10、UTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM ULINTRODUCTION1 Scope1.1 These requirements cover multi-conductor, nonintegrally jacketed or metal armored cable consistingof power units and control/signal/communication units. Each of the units is laid parallel to the next unit, orthe jacketed units may be twisted und
11、er an overall jacket or metallic armor. The cable is intended for usewith specific equipment and devices that are required to be powered and controlled from the same cable,such as (but not limited to) lighting and sound units in theaters, and ductless air conditioning systems.The installation of thi
12、s hybrid cable is intended to be in accordance with the National Electrical Code,ANSI/NFPA 70, in addition to any applicable building codes.1.2 The conductors for the power units in these cables are either unmarked, jacketed cables described inthe NEC, or use insulated conductors described in the NE
13、C. Jacketed cables used for both the powerunits and the control units are described in Sections68.Cables are marked with the temperature, voltage and other optional ratings.Cables for direct burial are so marked.Cables may be marked sun res or sunlight resistant.Cables that are marked oil resistant
14、II have a jacket that is suitable for exposure to oil attemperatures not in excess of 75C (167F).Cables that are marked oil resistant I have a jacket that is suitable for exposure to oil attemperatures not in excess of 60C (140F).Each insulated conductor that is oil resistant II, oil resistant I, VW

In a round power unit, fillers shall be cabl
32、edwith the conductors or, if applicable to the construction, may be in the center of the cable. Fillers may beintegral with or separate from the jacket. If fillers are integral with a jacket, they and the jacket shall bereadily separable from the underlying cable assembly. Fillers shall be of noncon
33、ductive nonmetallicmaterial.7.3 Shield(s)7.3.1 A shield is not required, but is acceptable over an individual insulated conductor, over one orseveral groups of conductors, or over the entire cable assembly. Several shields may be used in a givenpower unit.7.3.2 A shield shall consist of one of the f
34、ollowing:a) A polyester and metal laminated shield tape with or without a bare copper drain wire inelectrical contact with the metal part of the tape. The drain wire shall be metal-coated if the tapemetal is aluminum; otherwise, the drain wire may be metal-coated or uncoated. The drain wiremay be un
35、der or over the tape.b) A wrap or braid of metal-coated or uncoated copper or copper-alloy wires.c) A metal-coated or uncoated copper or copper-alloy tape.d) An evaluated equivalent of any of the above.7.3.3 The details of the construction of a shield and the manner of its application are not specif
36、ied, butare to be judged on the basis of the performance of the finished cable in the tests described in this outline.There are no requirements for the electromagnetic performance of a shield.7.4 Jacket7.4.1 The jacket shall be extruded directly over the flat or round assembly of conductors. The ass
37、emblyshall be completely covered and well centered in the jacket.7.4.2 The overall jacket shall be of one of the materials in Table 7.3. The jacket material shall have thetemperature rating required for the specific cable construction. Jacket materials not in Table 7.3 shall beevaluated for the requ
38、ested temperature rating as described in the test, Dry temperature rating of newmaterial (Long-term aging test), in UL 2556. The mechanical and physical characteristics of the cableusing either material shall be comparable in performance to a jacket material covered in Table 7.3. Aninvestigation sha
