10、s Outline.2 Components2.1 Except as indicated in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this Outline shall comply with therequirements for that component.2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the applicati

16、OLDED-CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERSCONSTRUCTION6 General6.1 The construction of a PV circuit breaker shall comply with the requirements as specified in Section6.1 of UL 489, except as noted in Sections68ofthis Outline as applicable.6.2 PV circuit breakers shall be considered as single poles for individual P
17、V sources or strings that mayuse multiple sets of contacts in series, unless marked in accordance with 17.5. See also 9.8.7 Spacings7.1 The electrical spacings for PV circuit breakers rated 600V or less shall meet the requirements ofSection 6.1.6 of UL 489. Those PV circuit breakers rated 601 1500V

29、rked line and load in accordance with 17.10, the Endurance andTemperature Tests shall be conducted with the device wired in the normal (forward) direction. The LimitedFault Interrupting and Standard Fault Interrupting Tests shall be conducted in the reverse direction. TheCalibration and Trip-out Tes
30、ts may be conducted in any convenient direction.9.5 When a PV circuit breaker is not marked line and load in accordance with 17.10, for SequencesA, B, and C, one sample of the sample set, or an additional sample for each test set, shall be providedand tested with opposing line and load connections t
31、han that required in 9.4. When only one sampleconstitutes a set, a second sample is required for opposing line-load connection tests.Exception No. 1: A circuit breaker that is required to be wired in series such that the same number of poles(contacts) are exposed to the current in both directions si
32、multaneously, testing in both the forward andreverse direction is not required.Exception No. 2: A circuit breaker constructed such that the contact(s) and arc suppression mechanismis symmetrical in design such that the direction of the current and resultant opposing magnetic field is nota factor in
33、the behavior of the arc, testing in both the forward and reverse direction is not required.9.6 When a PV circuit breaker has interchangeable trip units, one sample of the frame and three samplesof the trip unit shall constitute a set.9.7 For the purposes of this Outline, testing in the forward direc
34、tion requires the positive terminal of thesource to be connected to the normal line terminal of the device. 35、IZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL9.8 Each pole of a multipole PV circuit breaker shall be tested individually unless marked in accordancewith 17.5 and investigated in accordance with 9.9 of this Outline.9.9 A PV circuit breaker shall be connected in accordance w
36、ith the wiring instructions of themanufacturer. Multipole PV circuit breakers marked for more than one wiring configuration shall besubjected to a sufficient number of tests to represent all configurations. Examples:a) For interrupting tests, a configuration with the least number of poles energized
37、wouldrepresent configurations with more poles energized.b) For temperature tests, a configuration with the most number of poles energized wouldrepresent configurations with a fewer number of poles energized.c) Calibration tests shall be conducted on the configurations with both the most and leastnum
38、ber of poles energized.9.10 For the Endurance, Limited Fault Interrupting, and Standard Fault Interrupting Tests, a PV circuitbreaker intended for use on a system having one conductor grounded shall be tested with the enclosureor mounting surface connected to the negative conductor through a fuse as
39、 described in 7.1.1.21 of UL489.9.11 A PV circuit breaker shall be wired in accordance with 9.12 for the Interrupting Tests if the PV circuitbreaker complies with all of the following:a) Is a multi-pole type;b) Is marked for 2 or more poles to be wired in series;c) Is marked for use in a grounded sy
40、stem; andd) Requires a direct connection to both the grounded and ungrounded circuit conductors.9.12 The circuit breaker shall be wired to both the grounded and ungrounded circuit conductor of the teststation with the fewest number of poles intended to be connected in series in accordance with the c
41、ircuitbreaker instructions. The normal load terminal(s)/pole(s) intended to be connected to the grounded circuitconductor shall not be used, and instead the load side of the positive terminal shall be connected directlyto the grounded terminal of the test station.9.13 For a field wired PV circuit br
42、eaker, the wire used to connect to the terminal for the test in Section12 shall be sized in accordance with Table 8.1. For the test in Section 10, the wire may be sized basedon either the requirements of UL 489 or Table 8.1. When the tests in Sections 11 and 12 are combined,the wire shall be sized i

44、ance Test10.1 A PV circuit breaker shall be capable of performing successfully when subjected to the EnduranceTest specified in 7.1.5 of UL 489 at the maximum rated dc voltage specified for the circuit breaker. Thenumber of operations of the Endurance Test shall be in accordance with Table 10.1.10.2
45、 Prior to the Temperature Test, the PV breaker shall be subjected to at least 10 percent of therequired electrical operations and 100 percent of the mechanical operations of Table 10.1. Uponcompletion of the Temperature Test, the remaining electrical operations shall be completed beforeconducting th

47、3.11.2 A PV circuit breaker shall not exceed the values in Section 7.1.4 and 7.6.5 of UL 489 except thetemperature rise limits shall be adjusted by subtracting 10C from the allowable rise.11.3 At the request of the manufacturer, the Temperature Test may be conducted in conjunction with the100 Percen
48、t Calibration Test described in Section 12, in which case the temperature rise limits shall notrequire the 10C correction factor described in 11.2.11.4 Fusible PV circuit breakers shall be tested with PV fuses in place. Testing with actual fuses is to beconducted at 80 percent rated current.11.5 A P
