8、itions:5.101 ACTUATION SYSTEMS:a) SINGLE An actuation system in which the trigger has to be actuated for each drivingoperation.b) CONTINUOUS An actuation system in which the driving operations are carried out for aslong as the trigger remains actuated. No safety yoke is present.c) CONTACT An actuati

9、on system in which both the trigger and the safety yoke have to beactuated for each driving operation, with the order of actuation not being specified. The drivingoperations occur if either the trigger remains activated and the safety yoke is activatedthereafter, or vice versa.d) CONTACT, CONTINUOUS

14、 or other fastening device thatis designed and manufactured for use in the tools within the scope of this outline.5.103 LIGHT-DUTY TOOL A tool meeting all of the following:a) A tool not capable of driving fasteners with;1) Wire sized 18 ASWG (0.0475 inch diameter) or greater; or2) Nominal staple thi

15、ckness 0.038 inch (1.0 mm) or greater and with nominal staplewidth 0.050 inch (1.3 mm) or greater.b) A tool not capable of driving a fastener greater than 25.4 mm (1 in) long;c) A tool with a maximum rated air pressure not exceeding 100 psi.5.104 SAFETY YOKE An operating control element or assembly

29、 ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL14 Mechanical StrengthThis Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows:Add an Exception to 14.1.1.1 as follows:Exception: Roofing nailers and roofing staplers shall be subjected to three drops each for a total of ninedrops on a concrete surface from a

30、height of 4 m (13.1 ft).15 ConstructionThis Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows:Replace 15.5 and 15.6 as follows:15.5 A tool shall be equipped with a trigger.15.6 The trigger shall:a) Be positive On-Off type,b) Return to the stop position when released,c) Be constructed and located to

31、reduce the risk of unintentional operation, andCompliance is checked by inspection and by the following test:The tool is to be placed in any position anticipated in normal use. The tool is to be positionedon a horizontal surface. Accessories shall be taken into account in determining compliance with

32、this requirement.The edge is not taken into account as part of the horizontal surface.Unintentional operation of the trigger shall not occur.d) Be mechanically durable.Compliance is checked by inspection and by the following test:One trigger shall be subjected to 50,000 operations of opening and clo

33、sing at a rate not lessthan 10 cycles per minute.Following the test the tool is to be operated at maximum rated air pressure. The trigger shalloperate normally.Add paragraph:15.6.1 The trigger shall be constructed such that the part of the trigger that has the greatest travel shallnot be less than 6

36、tence after the first sentence in the Compliance statement:A tool employing a safety yoke shall be tested with the safety yoke bypassed and again with the triggerbypassed.15.14 This paragraph of Part 1 is not applicable.Add paragraphs:15.101 A tool shall not be provided with a belt suspension hanger

37、15.102 A tool other than a light-duty tool shall have a safety yoke in addition to a trigger.Exception: A safety yoke is not required for a tool when:a) The tool is offered with a dual trigger option and the tool is designed to only drive fastenerscomplying with the requirements of 5.103(a); orb) T

38、he tool is equipped with a self-contained clinching anvil(s.) (Examples include, but are notlimited to, carton closing staplers, sisal/bedding tools with fixed anvils, carton pliers.)15.103 Other than specified in 15.102 and 15.104, a tool actuation system shall be single actuation,contact actuation

39、 single sequential actuation, or full sequential actuation. A tool shall not be capable ofcontinuous actuation or continuous contact actuation.Compliance is checked by inspection.15.104 A tool capable of driving fasteners greater than 127 mm (5 in) long shall only be capable of fullsequential actua

40、tion and shall employ a safety yoke that reduces the risk of unintentional drivingoperations.Compliance is checked by applying 1.5 times the tool weight, but not less than 1.5 kg (3.3 lb). The safetyyoke shall not engage to initiate driving operations.15.105 A sharp edge or point of a fastener shall

42、ER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL15.106 With reference to 15.102, a tool having a safety yoke shall comply with 15.107 15.110.15.107 Upon removal of the tool from the workpiece, the safety yoke shall return to its starting position.Compliance is checked by inspection and a ma

43、nual test.15.108 An air-operated safety yoke shall operate under abnormal conditions.Compliance is checked by connecting the tool to an air source set at 80 percent of the rated air pressureor at 80 percent of the minimum pressure of the rated air-pressure range. The safety yoke shall return toits s

44、tarting position.15.109 A safety yoke shall be constructed to reduce the risk of unintentional actuation of the tool. A safetyyoke:a) Shall not extend more than 18 mm (0.7 in) from the exit point of the fastener for contactactuation systems or for a tool capable of driving fasteners greater than 127

45、 mm (5 in) long, orb) Shall not extend more than 30 mm (1.2 in) from the exit point of the fastener for all othertools.Compliance is checked by inspection.15.110 A safety yoke shall be mechanically durable.Compliance is checked by inspection and by the following test:One safety yoke shall be subject
