43、olumetric Correction FactorsPart 3Proving Reports0 IntroductionWhen most of the older standards for the calculation ofpetroleum quantities were written, mechanical desk calcula-tors were widely used for calculating the measurement docu-ments. Tabulated values were used more widely than is thecase to

44、day. Rules for rounding and the choice of how manyfigures to enter in each calculation step were often made byindividual operators at the time of the calculation. As aresult, different operators obtained different results from thesame data.This multi-part publication consolidates and standardizesthe

45、 calculations pertaining to metering petroleum liquidsusing turbine or displacement meters and clarifies terms andexpressions by eliminating local variations of such terms. Thepurpose of standardizing the calculations is to produce identi-cal answers from given data. For different operators to obtai

46、nidentical results from the same data, the rules for sequence,rounding, and discrimination of figures (or decimal places)must be defined.1 ScopeThis part provides standardized calculation methods for thedetermination of meter factors under defined conditions,regardless of the point of origin or dest

47、ination or units ofmeasure required by governmental customs or statute. Thecriteria contained here will allow different entities using vari-ous computer languages on different computer hardware (orby manual calculations) to arrive at identical results using thesame standardized input data.This docum

48、ent also specifies the equations for computingcorrection factors, including the calculation sequence, dis-crimination levels, and rules for rounding to be employed inthe calculations. No deviations from these specified equationsare permitted, since the intent of this document is to establisha rigoro

49、us standard.2 Organization of StandardThe calculation standard is presently organized into fiveparts as follows: Part 1 contains a general introduction todynamic calculations. Part 2 focuses on the calculation ofmetered quantities. Part 3 applies to meter proving calcula-tions. Parts 4 and 5 apply to the calculation of base provervolumes by two different methods. A brief description of eachof these parts follows.2.1 PART 1INTRODUCTION2.1.1The base (reference or standard) volumetric determi-nation of metered quantities is discussed, along with the gen-eral terms required
