Wherenostandardsexist,theproprietarymanufacturersrecommendationsshallbeadopted.ISO ISO107212:1999(E) 3 4Fabrication workmanship 4.1Material identification Thefabricatorshalldemonstratethemeansusedtoeffectivelyidentifysteelmaterialspriortofabricationand assemblyofmembers.

31、Hardstampingmaybeusedexceptwhereotherwisespecifiedbythedesigner,suchasfor elementssubjecttosuddenimpactorfatiguecriteriaorinregionswhereplastichingesmayoccur. 4.2 Bendingandpressing Steelmaybebentorpressedtotherequiredshapebyeitherthehotorthecoldprocess,providedthepropertiesof thematerialarenotaffec

32、tedbeyondthelimitsspecifiedintherelevantsteelstandard. Forcoldbendingofplatesandflats,theinternalradiusofbendsshallbewithintolerancesgiveninthedesign documentsandshallnotbelessthanthebendtestingradiusspecifiedforthematerialthicknessintherelevant steelstandard. Forhotbending,thetemperature,timingandc

33、oolingrateshallbeappropriatetotheparticulartypeofsteel.Bending intheblueheatrange(290 Cto380 C)shallbeavoided. 4.3 Straighteningandflattening Straighteningandflatteningshallbecarriedoutbytheapplicationofheatorbytheslowapplicationofmechanical pressure;hammeringisnotpermitted. Whenstraighteningandflat

34、teningbytheapplicationoflocalizedheat,therecommendationsofclauseB.4in annexBshouldbefollowed. 4.4Forging Forgingshallbecarriedoutinsuchamannerthatitwillnotimpairthepropertiesofthematerial. 4.5 Preparationofedges,endsandsurfaces 4.5.1General Cuttingshallbebysawing,shearingandmachinethermalorlasercutt

35、ing.Unguidedflamecuttingshallonlybe usedfornotchingorthecompletionoftheformationofslottedholes.Reentrantcornersshallberoundedby grindingandbefreeofovercutting. 4.5.2 Preparationofmaterial Thepreparationofthematerialshallbeinaccordancewiththefollowingrequirements: a) parentmetalsurfaceswithin25mmofth

36、eweldshallbesmooth,uniformandfreefromcracks,looseorthick scaleandothercontaminantswhichwouldadverselyaffectthestrengthorqualityoftheweld; b) wheresmallnotchesorirregularitiesingascutedgesoccuronotherwisesatisfactorysurfaces,theyshallbe removedbygrindingormachiningtoasmoothprofile. Notchesinexcessof5

37、mmindepthorotherdiscontinuitiesconsideredunacceptableshallberepairedby weldingtoanapprovedweldingprocedure.Subsequently,theyshallbegroundsmoothandflushwiththe adjacentsurfacetoproduceanacceptablefinish; c) reentrantcornersshallbefilletedtoaradiusofnotlessthan10mm; NOTE Areentrantcornerisacornerinwhi

38、chtheopenanglebetweenthecutfacesislessthan180 . d) methodsotherthanthosegivenin4.5maybeusedforjointpreparation,backgougingorfortheremovalof unacceptablematerialexceptthatthermalgougingshallnotbeusedonquenchedandtemperedsteels;ISO107212:1999(E) ISO 4 e) edgesofbuiltupbeamandgirderwebsshallbecuttothep

39、rescribedcamberwithsuitableallowancefor shrinkageduetocuttingandwelding.Deviationsfromthespecifiedcambertolerancemaybecorrectedbythe useofanappropriateheatingprocedure; f) steelsurfacesshall: 1) onrolledsurfaces ,benoworsethanGradeCinaccordancewithISO85011andbefreefromsurface defectsinaccordancewith

40、ISO630, 2) oncutsurfaces ,haveasuitablesurfaceroughnessandbefreefromsharparriseswhichpreventthe attainmentofthesurfaceconditionsrequiredforthepaintingsystemspecified. 4.5.3 Flamecuttingandshearing Flamecuttingandshearingshallbepermittedforelementssubjecttoconsiderationofthefollowing: a) whereafatigu

41、equalityisspecified(seeD.5.2inannexD); b) thecutedgeiscompletelyincorporatedintheweld; c) whenspecified,themaximumhardnessofthecutedgedoesnotexceedthelevelsgivenintheappropriate nationalstandard; d) theroughnessofthecutedgedoesnotexceedthevaluespecifiedintheappropriatenationalstandard. 4.5.4 Machini

42、ngbuttedjoints Jointsurfacesdependentoncontactforthetransmissionofloadshallbewithinthetolerancesspecified(see8.6). Nomachiningneedbecarriedoutonabearingfacewhichistobegrouteddirectlytoafoundation. Compressionjointswhichdependoncontactbearingshallhavethebearingsurfacesofindividualfabricatedpieces preparedtoacommonplanebysawingormachining. 4.5.5 Contactsurfacesforslipresistantconnections Allcontactsurfacesshall,atthetimeofassembly,beasspecifiedandfreeofanycontaminant. Whenthejointisassembled,thecontactsurfacesshallbefreefromdust,oil,paintorotherdeleteriousmaterials, exceptforaplannedslip
