、工商管理硕士入学考试-Probability+and+Statistics 及答案解析(总分:20.00,做题时间:90 分钟)一、B单项选择题/B(总题数:1,分数:20.00)The following data sufficiency problems consist of a question and two statements, labeled (1) and (2), in which certain data are given. You have to decide whether the data given in the statements are sufficient

、for answering the question. Using the data given in the statements plus your knowledge of mathematics and everyday facts (such as the number of days in July or the meaning of counterclockwise), you must indicate whether. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient. S

、tatement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.(分数:20.00)(1).Kara attends a university where studen

、ts study for an average (arithmetic mean) of 13.4 hours per week. How many hours per week does Kara study? (1) The standard deviation of study time at Karas school is 2.8. (2) Karas study time is one standard deviation away from the mean.(分数:10.00)A.B.C.D.E.(2).The cards in a deck are numbered conse

、cutively from 1 to 20. If some cards are red and some cards are black, what is the probability of drawing a red card? (1) The odd-numbered cards are all red. 10、icient and we can cross off A and D. Statement (2) alone tells us nothing because we dont know what the standard deviation is, so we can eliminate B. Together, the statements tell us that Kara studies for either 16.2 hours or 10.6 hours, but because we dont know whether she studies more or less than

、 the mean, the statements are not sufficient together and our answer is E.(2).The cards in a deck are numbered consecutively from 1 to 20. If some cards are red and some cards are black, what is the probability of drawing a red card? (1) The odd-numbered cards are all red. (2) The even-numbered card

、s are all black.(分数:10.00)A.B.C. D.E.解析:This is a very deceptive problem. Statement (1) tells us that 10 of the 20 cards are red, but it doesnt say that those are the only red cards in the deck, so its not sufficient on its own and we can eliminate A and D. The same thing applies to statement (2); it doesnt say that those are the only black cards in the deck. When we put the statements together, on the other hand, we see the whole picture and know that exactly 10 of the 20 cards are red. So our answer is C.
