Ordering Information3.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordered under thisspecification

General Requirements4.1 Material furnished under this specification shall con-form to the applicable requirements of the current edition ofSpecification B906, unless

9、 otherwise specified herein.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Heat TreatmentThe final heat treatment shall be asolution-anneal. Minor cold working such as flattening ortemper rolling may be performed after the final solutionannealing treatment.NOTE 1This recommended solution-anneal consists of heating

10、 to aminimum temperature of 1975F (1080C) and cooling rapidly to roomtemperature.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material sampled in accordance with 10.2 shallconform to the composition limits prescribed in Table 1.6.2 If a product analysis is subsequently made, the materialshall conform to the compo

11、sition limits with the productanalysis variation prescribed Specification B880.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as to themechanical property prescribed in Table 2.8. Dimensions and Permissible Variations8.1 SheetMaterial furnished under this specification sh

12、allconform to the applicable requirements of the current edition ofSpecification B906, except as specified in Table 3 and Table 4.8.2 Cold-Rolled StripMaterial furnished under this speci-fication shall conform to the applicable requirements of thecurrent edition of Specification B906, except as spec

Sampling9.1 Sampling for Chemical Analysis, Mechanical Testing,and Corrosion Testing shall be performed in accordance withSpecification B906, except as specified herein:9.1.1 PlateA lot of pl

18、ate for testing and inspection pur-poses shall consist of the products resulting from the rolling ofone heat of material in the same condition and specifiedthickness, solution annealed by the same practice, but in nocase more than 25 000 lb (11 340 kg).9.1.2 Sheet and StripA lot of sheet or strip fo

19、r testing andinspection purposes shall consist of material from one heat inthe same form (sheet or strip), condition, finish, and specifiedthickness, solution-annealed by the same practice but in nocase more than 25 000 lb (11 340 kg).9.2 Sampling for Mechanical Tests:9.2.1 When samples are to be ta

20、ken after delivery, thepurchaser of material ordered to cut lengths may request on thepurchase order additional material of adequate size to providesample coupons for inspection purposes.10. Number of Tests and Retests10.1 In the case of sheet or strip supplied in coil form, twoor more tension tests

21、 (one from each end of each coil), and oneor more hardness tests shall be made on specimens taken fromeach end of the coil. When material is supplied in flatsheet, flatstrip, or plate, one tension and one or more hardness tests shallbe made on each 100 or less sheets, strips, or plates of the samelo

22、t. When specified, one corrosion test shall be conducted foreach lot.10.2 If any specimens selected to represent any lot fail tomeet any of the test requirements, the material represented bysuch specimens may be retested. If there is valid reason tobelieve the result is not representative, the mater

23、ial may bere-reannealed and retested.11. Specimen Preparation11.1 Tension test specimens from material under12 in. (12.7mm) in thickness shall be of the full thickness of the materialand machined to the form and dimensions shown for thesheet-type specimen in Test Methods E8/E8M. Tension testspecimen

24、s from material12 in. (12.7 mm) and over shall be ofthe full thickness of the material, machined to the form anddimensions shown for the plate-type specimen in Test MethodsE8/E8M. Tension test specimens shall be taken from materialafter final heat treatment and shall be selected in the transversedir
