16、dmethodsofpresentingtest resultsaredetailed.Performanceparametersarerecommendedanddefinedandtheirdeterminationisformulated, therebyallowingtheiruseinevaluating,comparingandpredictingperformancelevelsofcleaningoperations. Conditions,includingfeedrate,shouldbekeptuniform,monitoredandmaintainedwithinprescribedtolerancelimits duringatest. Wherep

23、erformancetestresultsareusedforprediction,processconditionsshouldbetakenintoaccount. 5 Performanceparameters Forthestandardexpressionofperformanceofacleaningoperation,determinethecriteriainclause4bythe followingparameters: a) thefeedrate,expressedonmassand/orvolumebasis; Keepthefeedrateasuniformaspo

24、ssiblethroughouttheperformancetestanddetermineitovertheduration ofthetestbythemostaccuratemethodavailable. Wherethefeedtotheequipmentisbybeltconveyor,determinethefeedrateinaccordancewithISO5048. b) thereferencedensityofseparation,preferablyexpressedasbothpartitiondensityandequal-errorscut-point (den

25、sity); c) thesharpnessofseparationexpressedintermsofprobableerrorandimperfection; d) thedistributionofcorrectlyplacedandincorrectlyplacedmaterialineachproduct,presentedgraphicallywith respecttorelativedensity,andtheparticularvalueofmisplacedmaterialineachproduct,determinedatthe referencedensityofsep

27、densitymaterial(andbyotherrelevant characteristics).ISO923:2000(E)3 6 Performancetestprocedures Theequipmenttobetested,thefeedcomposition,andthemeansofhandlingthefeedandproducts,varywidely.A singleInternationalStandardtocoverallcasesisnotapplicable.Thefollowinggeneralproceduresshallbe followed. a) S

28、amplesshallbetakenfromthefeedandfromeachoftheproducts.Thesamplingtechniques,numberof incrementsandincrementmassshallensurethatallsamplestakenarerepresentativeandshallcomplywith existingInternationalStandardswhereavailable.SamplingofcoaliscoveredbyISO1988andsizeanalysisof coaliscoveredbyISO1953. Toen

29、ablecheckingofresultsandassessmentoftheeffectsofdegradation,representativesamplesshouldbe takenfromallrelevantstreamstoandfromtheequipmenttobetested. b) Itisessentialtodeterminethefeedrateandthepercentageyieldtoeachoftheproductsonadrybasisin accordancewithISO1170.Thisshouldbeachievedinaccordancewith

30、oneoftheproceduresgivenbelow. Determinethemassofeachproductbyoneormoreofthefollowingmethods,whicharelistedinorderofreliability. a) Bydirectweighingofthewholeofeachproductcollectedoverthedurationofthetestorthroughcontinuous weighingandintegrationoverthedurationofthetest. b) Bytakingregulartimedincrem

31、entsoverthedurationofthetest. c) Byweighingeachproductcollectedsimultaneouslyoveraselectedperiodofthetest. NOTE1 Ifitisfeasibletomeasureboththemassofthefeed(bybeltweigher,weighhopper,flowmeter,etc.)andthemass oftheproducts,thisprovidesacheck. NOTE2 Ifthemassofoneoftheproductscannotbeobtained,itmaybe

32、derivedfromamassbalancebetweenthefeedand otherproduct(s). NOTE3 Wherethesolidsareconveyedbyafluid,itmaybemoreconvenienttomakevolumetricmeasurements. Representativesamplesshouldbetakenfromstreamstodeterminemoisturecontentorconcentrationsofsolidsas appropriate,sothatresultscanbereportedonadrybasis. In
