CLC/TR 50473:2007 2 1 Scope The purpose of this report is to give recommendations of the co-ordination of dimensions between enclosures and built-in d
、evices for rail fixing for household or similar installations by listing the principal overall and related mounting dimensions, the rated current of a single device not exceeding 125 A. Examples of these devices are: MCBs, RCDs switches, fuse-systems, indicating lamps, relays, socket- outlets, timin
、g switches, etc. Compliance with this document does not preclude the need for compliance with other relevant specifications. This document needs not apply to type tested and partially type tested assemblies which are covered by other specifications. The means of fixing envisaged in this document are
、 mounting rails. Other possible means of fixing may be used but are not covered by these recommendations. NOTE The only criterion chosen in this document for co-ordination of dimensions has been the geometry of the devices. When selecting the enclosure, other criteria should be taken into account, e

The width of this shoulder shall be between 2,5 mm and 5 mm. 8.2 Window openings (see Figure 1b) The height f of the ope
、ning for the window is obtained from the relationship: (d + 1) f (d + 2) where d is the nominal value of the height of the front projection (see 5.3). In order to obtain the degree of protection prescribed by the wiring rules appropriate measures shall be taken, e.g. use of blanking pieces. NOTE In
、EN 60439-3 a minimum degree of protection by the enclosure of IP 2XC is required for low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies intended to be installed in places where unskilled persons have access. 8.3 Strength of front barriers and/or doors Yielding of front barriers and/or doors as a resu

、 mounted on two rails. Devices with a height of 75 mm, 100 mm or 125 mm (see 5.2) may be mounted on two rails, using the same enclosures as devices with a height of 45 mm or 55 mm, which are intended to be mounted on one rail only. It is only necessary to cut out the part of the front barrier betwee
、n two parallel mounting rails, e.g. at the meter distribution board. Another method of mounting is that only the operating means protrudes through the cover or front barrier. Provisions have to be adopted by the manufacturer of the board to ensure that the front barrier has the required rigidity aft
、er cutting. Devices according to Figure A.1 are designed to be mounted on two rails, but it is also permissible to mount these devices on a single centre rail. These devices dont have an operating means, e.g. transformers, remote controls, etc. Devices according to Figure A.2 are also designed to be
、 mounted on two rails and it is also permissible to mount these devices on a single centre rail. These devices can have their mounting means either integrated in the housing of the device of an adapter can be used, which is fixed to the housing of the device. The devices with the adapter are surface
、-type devices, and different adapters may be used. Either devices where the mounting means is integrated in the housing or surface type devices with an adapter can be used. Figures A.1 and A.2 show examples of devices of one family-size using 125 mm distance between the two rails. CLC/TR 50473:2007
、8 1) Mounting on two rails or on one single rail to EN 60715. 2) Accessible live parts shall be positioned in such a way that the distance from the live part to the outer surface of the front barrier at the edge of the window is not less than 6 mm taking into account the maximum cable cross section.
