This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of
8、 the latest issue of BS S 100 as follows: 1.2 Sulphur printing or deep etching tests. One sample shall be taken from each ingot for sulphur printing or deep etching tests. 1.3 Ultrasonic examination. The material shall be ultrasonically tested in accordance with BS S 100, Annex B. 2 Manufacture The
9、material shall be manufactured by an electric process. 3 Chemical composition The steel shall contain: 4 Surface dressing The material shall be overall dressed. 11、S 151:1975 2 BSI 14 October 2002 5 Condition 5.1 The material shall be supplied in the appropriate condition stated below: 5.2 Parts shall be supplied finally heat treated. 6 Heat treatment 6.1 Softening treatment. The material shall be softened by heating uniformly at a temperature between 670 C an
12、d 720 C for not less than 6 h, followed by cooling in air. 6.2 Final heat treatment 6.2.1 The material, parts and test samples shall be heat treated as follows: a) Hardening. Heat at a temperature of 1 050 10 C, followed by cooling in air. b) Tempering. Heat at a temperature of 650 5 C, followed by
13、cooling in air. 6.2.2 Where bars delivered in the finally heat treated condition have been subjected to a cold straightening or cold rolling operation, they may be given a stress relieving treatment. If a stress relieving treatment is applied this shall be sufficient to restore the proof stress. 7 M
14、echanical properties 7.1 Tensile test at room temperature and impact test. The mechanical properties obtained from test pieces shall be as follows: Note deleted 7.2 Hardness test 7.2.1 The hardness of material heat treated in accordance with 6.1 shall be not greater than 311 HB. 7.2.2 The hardness o
