7、5 BSI 7 May 2004 1 NOTE This specification compiles with AECMA Recommendation FE PM38. 1 Inspection and testing procedure 1.1 General This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of the latest issue of BS S 100 as follows: 1.2 Sulfur printing or deep etching tests On
8、e sample shall be taken from each ingot for sulfur printing or deep etching tests. 1.3 Ultrasonic examination The material shall be ultrasonically tested in accordance with the latest issue of BS S 100, Annex B. 2 Manufacture The material shall be manufactured by one of the following processes: a) A
9、ir melted in an electric furnace and consumable electrode remelted. b) Vacuum induction melted and consumable electrode remelted. 3 Chemical composition The steel shall contain: 4 Surface dressing The material shall be overall dressed. 12、6 Heat treatment 6.1 Softening treatment The material shall be softened by heating at a temperature of between 720 C and 760 C for 2 h, followed by cooling in air. 6.2 Final heat treatment 6.2.1 The material, parts and test samples shall be heat treated as follows: a) Hardening. Pre-heat to a temper
13、ature between of 650 C and 700 C and equalize. Heat at a temperature of 1 170 10 C, followed by quenching in oil. NOTE If agreed between the manufacture and the purchaser and stated on the order or method of manufacture, parts may be air cooled from the hardening temperature. b) First tempering. Hea
14、t at a temperature of 610 5 C for not less than 2 h, followed by cooling in air to room temperature. c) Second tempering. Heat uniformly at a temperature between of 620 C and 650 C for not less than 2 h, followed by cooling in air. 6.2.2 Where bars delivered in the finally heat treated condition hav
15、e been subjected to a cold straightening or cold rolling operation, they may be given a stress relieving treatment, which shall be sufficient to restore the proof stress. 7 Mechanical properties 7.1 Mechanical tests The mechanical properties obtained from test pieces shall be as follows: 7.1.1 Creep
