COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION PLASTIC SHEET (SHEETING), PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE COATED, CELLULOSE ACETATE, TRANSPARENT The General Service Administration has authori
3、zed the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers transparent cellulose acetate sheet (sheeting), 0.0015 inches nominal thickness, with a matte finish on one side and an adhesive backing on the other side. The cellulose a
4、cetate sheet (sheeting) is intended for use in covering and protecting maps, charts and photographs. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Cellulose acetate sheets. The cellulose acetate sheets (sheeting) shall have a matte finish specified for one side and an adhesive back specified for the other side. 2.
5、2 Surface finish. 2.2.1 One surface shall have a matte finish that will readily accept pencil and ink marks. Application of the matte finish shall not unduly impair the transparency of the sheets (sheeting). 2.2.2 The surface opposite that with the matte finish shall be such that it will provide a f
6、irm bond to a map or photograph when applied by firm pressure without heat. Application of the adhesive backing shall not unduly impair the transparency of the sheeting. The adhesive backing shall have a protective covering of paper or plastic, which can be readily removed prior to application to th
7、e material to be covered. 2.3 Color. The sheets (sheeting) shall be colorless. 2.4 Size. The 0.0015 inch nominal thickness sheets shall be furnished in the length and width specified by the procuring activity (see 6.2(b). The sheets (sheeting) shall be in the form of sheets or rolls as specified (se

The adhesive backing shall retain its adhesive properties both in use and throughout the normal life of the material. 2.6 Sheet material. The sheets (sheeting
9、) material shall be free from pin holes, scratches, dirt, foreign matter, and other defects that may affect serviceability. The material shall be free of defects in appearance, construction and workmanship, assembly of roll, and in count of sheet, length and weight of roll. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENT
10、S. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristi
11、cs of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 4.2 Market accept
12、ability. The following market acceptability criteria are necessary to document the quality of the product to be provided under this commercial item description: 4.2.1 The company must have been a distributor or manufacturer of the product for at least two years and be able to prove its ability to pr
13、ovide a reliable product conforming to the salient characteristics of this CID. 4.2.2 The company must provide a warranty for replacing defective items. 4.3 Inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contracts, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements. Exce
14、pt as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements unless disapproved by the government. The government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this commercial item de
15、scription where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements (see 6.2(d). 4.4 Testing. The supplier is responsible for insuring that materials and components used were manufactured, examined and tested in accordance with the requirements of
16、 this CID and, to the extent specified, of all reference documents. In the event of conflict, this CID shall govern. A suppliers certificate of compliance, including the applicable test results, shall be furnished by the contractor on request (see 6.2(e). 4.5 Roll dimensions. The width shall be with
17、in 0.25 inches of the dimension specified in the contract. The roll shall be within 4 percent of the length specified in the contract. The variance in thickness shall be specified in the acquisition order (see 6.2(f). There shall be no breaks in the rolls that are 15 inches or less in diameter, and
18、no more than two breaks in rolls greater than 15 inches in diameter. This backing shall be suitably restrained to pr
19、event removal when unwinding. The material shall be evenly and tightly wound on a substantial core to prevent telescoping of the roll. The core shall not be broken, collapsed, crushed, or mutilated. 4.7 Quantity. The count of sheets will be the amount specified in the acquisition order (see 6.2(g).
20、5. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing, labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2(h). 6. NOTES 6.1 Part or identification number (PIN). The part or identification number procedure for this CID is AA59504-1. This is for government purposes and does not constitute a re
21、quirement for the contractor. 6.2 Source of documents. 6.2.1 FAR. The FAR may be obtained from the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402-0001. 6.3 Ordering data. Acquisition documents must specify the following: a.
