7、em identified as The W.D. System. The objective is to extend computer aided design practices into the creation and update of schematic and wiring diagrams, together with an automatic interface with a computerized wire handling system, in order to improve efficiency by reducing drawing errors and lea

8、d times by the single manual handling of relevant data. It is a design aim that the W.D. System software packages shall enable the addition of suitable modules at a later date to enable the following existing manual fuctions to be automated also 1.1.1 Failure Mode and Effect Analysis 1.1.2 Weight An

9、alysis 1.1.3 Electrical Load Analysis 1.1.4 Auto-selection of Wire Size and Protection Device Rating Against Load 1.1.5 Input to Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Systems 1.2 Before any organisation implements such a scheme it would need to satisfy itself that the system is cost effective. A prima-faci

10、e case that it would be cost effective underlies the specification and a brief separate note will be available in the AECMA files on this point. 1.3 This recommendation is the work of Working Party 4 who have undertaken the Wiring Diagram System Specification Project for the AECMA CAD/CAM Working Gr

12、e following definitions have been used by the working party. 2.0.1. Theoretical Diagram A simplified diagram, drawn by system, which sets out the function logic for the system to enable the operation of the system to be easily understood. It makes no attempt to show connections which are required fo

13、r production purposes. 2.0.2. Schematic Diagram An enlarged theoretical diagram which covers the inter- faces between several systems and can include simple schematic representation of an associated mechanical system, It is required to enable the operation of the interface functions and systems oper

14、ation to be readily understood. It is also required to provide an aircraft operator with sufficient information for trouble shooting without additional instructions. 2.0.3. Wiring Diagram A diagram which shows the physical installation features of the system in the aircraft such as the physical loca

15、tion by code or title, the addition of plugs, sockets, terminal blocks and pressure bungs necessary to suit the production in st al 1 at i on requ irement s. In addition it should show complete details of the interconnecting wires such as wire type, size and coded ter- minal connections. It is used

16、a) to provide the necessary information for production departments to build the aircraft and b) to enable the aircraft operator to service and maintain the aircraft wiring wheh in service use. These definitions can be fbund in more detail in Publication 113-1 of the International Electrotechnical Co

O RECOMhlENDED STANDARDS As a standard for the doc

18、umentation of all aircraft, engine ani component aircraft related wiring and internal component wiring the working party have agreed that the ATA 10 to the latest revision shold be followed by any supplier. However, local company standards, military and collaborative requirements make it necessary t

19、o change some of the details of the standard for specific use. All drawings produced will be capable of being accommodated within an AO size. 20、permitted without license from IHS-,-,-EURO CT1/79/9343 79 1767043 0014b25 5 4.0 THE ELECTRICAL DRAWING SYSTEM The systems described in the following sections are typical systems and it should be noted that some companies represented on the working party differ slightly in their methods of working.

21、Tliese are in the areas of technical publications and the sequence of carrying out the various activities. 4.1. Basic Electrical Drawing System The existing flow of data is shmn schematically in Figure 1. Technical data for the wiring diagram originates from design engineers in the form of a hand dr

22、awn schematic or theoretical diagram. At this stage a preliminary failure mode and effect analysis is carried out and the diagram amended as necessary. The schematic will be annotated with requisite ir! stallation design data such as unit load characteristics, minimum recommended circuit protection

23、device rating to match the load, and where necessary particular connector pin allocations required to meet the failure analysis. This schematic or theoretical diagram is then passed (a) to tracers who prepare an ink master copy for use by the Technical Publication Department in preparing a customer

24、Wiring Manual and (b) to the installation design group who will create and hand draw the wiring diagram for that system, adding the necessary production breaks, positional coding, equipment coding and the interconnkcting wires, specifying type, rating, wire code and cohnection caie details. When com

25、plete, these also are passed to tracers for preparation for use by the Technical Publications Department in preparing customer Wiring Manuals. The schematic and wiring diagrams are drawn on special sheets to specified guide lines to enable a suitable reduction to be made to provide 11 x 17 inch page

26、s for the customer wiring - manual. At this stage of cohpletion of the wiring diagram and before formal issue, the relevant wire and equipment data is manually extracted from the diagram and prepared as input to the comput erized wire handling syn fig. 14.
