This standard specifies a method of assessing the ability of an element of connection to operate under high altitude conditions. It shall be used together with EN 2591. This test forms part of test C 2 : Climati

10、ica1 and optical connection - Test methods - Part C2 - Climatic sequence 2) 3 Preparation of specimens 3.i The specimens shall be fitted with their normal accessories and shall be mated or unmated with protective cover as specified by the technical specification. They shall be wired as specified by

11、the technical specification, 50 % of wires shall be of the minimum diameter, 50 % of the maximum diameter, evenly distributed. 3.2 Unless indicated in the technical specification, the following details shall be specified : - type of wire, - mated or unmated specimen with protective cover, - initial

12、measurements and requirements, - method in test EN 2591-B7 and proof voltage. 4 Apparatus The test chamber shall have provisions for sealing of electrical connections going in and out of the chamber to maintain the required pressure inside. The volume of the chamber shall not exceed 1 m3. 1) In prep

15、hnical specification. 5.2 Severity The severity shall be selected from the values listed in the table 1. Table 1 5.3 Procedure 5.3.1 The chamber pressure shall be reduced from room ambient to the specified pressure indicated in the technical specification within 5 min to 15 min and shall be maintain

16、ed at this level for 30 min. 5.3.2 Intermediate measurement and requirement The voltage proof test (EN 2591-B7) shall be carried out using the method and voltage indicated in the technical specification. The measured value shall comply with test EN 2591 -67 requirement. 5.3.3 The chamber pressure shall then be returned to ambient pressure level within 1 min.
