16、g Increasing the cohesive strength by chemical change. 3.5 Fluorescence The property of absorbing of one wavelength and emitting light of another wavelength. The phenomenon ceases when the source of light is cut off. 3.6 Shear strength The force necessary to bring the cured compound to the point of
17、failure by means of forces applied in a shear mode. 3.7 Thixotropy A decrease of the apparent viscosity under shear stress followed by a gradual recovery when the stress is removed. The effect is time-dependent. 3.8 Thixotropic index The ratio of the viscosity measured at one shear rate to that at a
18、nother shear rate. NOTE : The shear rates by convention, differ by a factor of 10 ; this is achieved by changing the rotational speed of the viscometer by a factor of 1 O. 3.9 Torque strength The force necessary to rotate a nut on a bolt where engaged threads are coated with cured compound. 3.10 Vis
19、cosity The property of a material to resist flow in shear. 4 Requirements 4.1 Composition The compounds shall consist essentially of acrylic esters of a polyhydroxy compound. They shall be either of the following : a) generally clear homogenous liquids free from particulate solids ; b) materials con
20、taining solids in suspension. 4.2 Colour and visual appearance 4.2.1 colour and free from contamination and foreign matter. 27、ompound is free from excessive cure shall comply with the material standard. 4.8 Ability to set on a zinc surface The compounds shall have the ability to set on a zinc surface within a time as specified in the material standard. The method of determination shall be in accordance with EN 3796. 4.9 Sh
28、elf life 4.9.1 life of the compound, measured from the date of dispatch by the manufacturer, shall be at least 12 months. 30、 1994 5 Quality assurance 5.1 Manufacturer approval 1 Procedures for manufacturer approval shall be in accordance with EN 2000. 5.2 Product qualification Procedures for product qualification shall be in accordance with EN 3042. 5.2.1 product(s) qualified shall submit them to a mandated body as desig
31、nated by AECMA-CERT : In addition to the requirements of EN 3042, the manufacturer or supplier wishing to have his a) Samples of the anaerobic polymerisable compound(s) for which qualification is sought. b) Test results for the properties listed in the material standards for the same batch of materi
32、al from which the submitted samples have been obtained. c) Full instructions for use of the compounds. 5.2.2 the samples provided to the mandated body by the manufacturer. 5.3 Inspection and test requirements All the tests listed in the specification for which qualification is sought shall be carrie
33、d out on An anaerobic polymerisable compound shall be tested as applicable in accordance with the requirements given in column Q, table 1, and shall comply with the properties of the material standard. 6 Acceptance 6.1 Manufacturing responsibility The manufacturer shall be responsible for the qualit
34、y and relevant procedures for all inspection and test requirements as specified in 6.3. 6.2 Product acceptance Each batch of material released by the manufacturer shall be deemed to comply with this specification and the material standard. 6.3 Inspection and test requirements 6.3.1 Every batch of ma
35、terial shall be inspected and tested to the requirements of column A table 1. 6.3.2 If the sample test fails to meet any of the requirements of the material standard, then two further samples may be tested from that batch. Both samples shall comply with all the requirements in 6.3.1 before the batch
36、 can be released as conforming to the requirements of the material standard. 7 Packaging 7.1 hold an agreed quantity. The compound shall be packed in sound, clean and dry containers which, after packing, shall 7.2 solidification of the material during storage. The nature of the container and the ull

43、e slide. Illuminate the prepared strip with the ultraviolet lamp. Annex C (normative) Determination of viscosity and thixotropic index c.1 Newtonian compounds C.l.1 accordance with IS0 3104. For newtonian compounds, the viscosity shall be measured in a calibrated U-tube viscometer in c.2 Non-newtoni
44、an compounds C.2.1 For non-newtonian compounds (thixotropic compounds), the viscosity shall be determined by a procedure based on method B of ASTM D 2196 using a Brookfiled Viscometer Model RVT and the small sample adaptor. C.2.2 For compounds with a thixotropic index between 2 and 5, use spindle ty
45、pe SC4-21/3 and for those compounds with a thixotropic index between 6 and 1 O, use spindle type SC4-27/3. C.2.3 The selection of spindle size depends upon the degree of thixotropy to be determined. A rotational speed combination of 2 rpm and 20 rpm shall be used. C.2.4 The viscometer shall be allow
46、ed to run for (10 t 1) min before the measurement C.2.5 The ratio of the viscosity at 2 rpm to that at 20 rpm shall be stated as the thixotropic index. 48、mostatically controlled at (100 I 1) OC or (15012) OC. D.2 Proced Ure Prepare six nut and bolt assemblies in accordance with EN 3794 for each test temperature. At the end of the (24 I 1) h period at (23 I 2) OC, remove any surplus uncured compound from the assemblies and place them in the oven at (I
49、00 Ir 1) “C for 1000 h. At the end of this period, remove the assemblies from the oven. Allow to cool at (23 f 2) OC for (2 I %) h and test as in EN 3794. Record the results as in EN 3794 and express the mean value for maximum torque as a percentage of the corresponding value obtained for the unaged specimen in the test at (+ 23 I 2) OC.
