、equirements for an aircraft internal time division multiplex data bus for use in systems integration of aircraft subsystems. The data bus consists of a STANAG 3838 (MIL-STD-1553B) controlled fibre optic or electrical interconnection channel for high speed data transmission. The control system is ful

、ly compatible with STANAG 3838 or its fibre optic equivalent. (In this document any reference to STANAG 3838 should be taken to mean either STANAG 3838 or its fibre optic equivalent). Even with the use of this standard, subtle differences will exist between data buses used on different aircraft due

、to particular aircraft mission requirements and the designer options allowed in this standard. The system designer has to recognize this fact and design the bus controller hardware and software to accommodate such differences. These designer selected options has to exist, so as to allow the necessar

、y flexibility in the design of specific multiplex systems in order to provide the control mechanism, architecture redundancy, degradation concept and traffic patterns peculiar to the specific aircraft mission requirements. The following document is structured to follow the organization of STANAG 383

、8 document as closely as possible. The high speed media characteristics are defined in parametric terms in the body of the standard, with the numerical values corresponding to optional implementation configurations being given in the “HS Fibre Optic Media Slash Sheets“ (ANNEX B) or “HS Electrical Me

、dia Slash Sheet“ (ANNEX E). The main body of this document is identical to the final draft of STANAG 3910. 1 Scope This standard specifies the characteristics and requirements of a data bus system which consists of one or more High Speed (HS) Channel(s1 for HS data transmission and one Low Speed (LS

、) Channel for control and LS data transmission. The standard defines the HS fibre optic or HS electrical data bus transmission line. The concept of operation and information flow on the HS multiplex data bus and the optical, electrical and functional formats to be employed are also defined. The elec

、tro-optical or electrical HS transmission and reception units which interface to the associated protocol electronics are described in EN 371 5. When invoked in a specification or statement of work, the requirements defined in this standard shall apply to the multiplex data bus and associated equipme

Star couplers and Tee couplers are examples of access couplers. 3.2 Asynchronou

、s Operation Asynchronous operation is the use of an independent clock source in each terminal for message transmission. Decoding is achieved in receiving terminals using clock information derived from the message. 3.3 Bit Contraction of binary digit : may either be zero or one. In information theory

、 a binary digit is equal to one binary decision or the designation of one of two possible values or states of anything used to store or convey information. 3.4 Bit Rate Number of bits transmitted per second. 3.5 Broadcast Operation of a data bus system such that information transmitted by the Bus Co

、ntroller or a terminal is addressed to the other terminals connected to the data bus. 3.6 Bus controller (BC) The terminal assigned the task of initiating information transfers on the data bus. 3.7 Bus Monitor (BM) A terminal assigned the task of receiving bus traffic and extracting selected informa
