29、connector provides an easy access to the optical faces for cleaning. Cleaning operation could be proceeded as follows: 1) unmate the pair of connectors 2) use lint free tissue and ethylic alcohol (or equivalent) to clean the front face of the optical contact without removing the contacts from their

30、cavities. 3) use dry clean air can for drying. 4) mate the pair of connectors. The cleaning procedure is the same for male and female inserts in either plug or receptacle. _- Number of the basic standard Fibre designation (see EN 4531-002) 8 Tooling No tools required for insertion / extraction of th

31、e optical contact. The optical contact is inserted / extracted by hand from the rear of the connector. The standard tool as per MIL-I-81969/8-10 standard (P/N for size 12) may be used. 9 Term i nation i nst ru ct i ons General termination operation: Pass the bayonet-boot and the spring on the cable.

32、 Strip off the cable up to the 125 pm fibre. inject epoxy glue with adapted syringe inside the optical ferrule from the rear side. Insert the ferrule onto the fibre and the cable. Crimp the rear of the ferrule onto the cable and its Kevlar. Cure the epoxy glue with an appropriate oven. Cleave the fi

33、bre and polish the front face of the optical contact.
