15、 Preparation of solution 3.1.1 Preparation of solvent base solution for bolts, pins and swage collars Prepare a solution containing 120 grams to 150 grams of cetyl alcohol per litre of solvent (see 2.2). To correctly dissolve the cetyl alcohol, the solution must be heated to a temperature of (49 3)
16、C. CAUTION This mixture has a relatively low flash point, only use with equipment designed for handling flammable and volatile fluids. 3.1.2 Preparation of solvent base solution for internally threaded parts The cetyl alcohol content will range from 30 grams to 165 grams cetyl alcohol per litre of s
17、olvent (see 2.2). Solution content is adjusted inside the above limit to fulfill the preload requirement as per applicable products specification. To correctly dissolve the cetyl alcohol, the solution must be heated to a temperature of (49 3) C. CAUTION This mixture has a relatively low flash point,
18、 only use with equipment designed for handling flammable and volatile fluids. 3.2 Cleaning The parts to be lubricated must be clean and dry. The cleaning method shall be such as to ensure the surface of the part is free from oil, grease, rust, scale and other foreign materials. The cleaning method s
19、hall have no harmful effect on material or surface finish properties. 3.3 Application of cetyl alcohol Cleaned products are to be placed into racks or baskets. Racks or baskets used during lubrication of parts shall be made of non-contaminating materials and designed such as to ensure complete lubri
20、cation and drainage. Product shall be immersed into a cetyl alcohol solution of solvent base until all parts reach the solution temperature. 3.4 Drain The rack or basket of products shall be removed from solution and allowed to drain off excess of lubricant. As far as possible, slow tumbling or shak
21、ing is recommended to prevent coating buildup on the surface. Draining time is dependent on size and quantity of parts being lubricated. Draining time shall be not less than one minute. 3.5 Drying Products shall be dried at room temperature or using warm dry air of temperature not higher than 38 C.

The presence of a white or frosty looking film is not a cause for rejection. When internally threaded parts with a locking feature are tested and fail to mee

Parts relubricated must meet inspection requirements of this specification and be retested per applicable product specification for fin

The solution content shall be analysed by suitable method such as gravimetric evaporation or specific gravity. 4.3 Contamination of solution Solution must be replaced when contamina

This is evident by spotty coating, cloudy solution, dark solution, or presence of foreign particles. 5 Mixture life Not withstanding the above mentioned 4.2 and 4.3 requirements, the solution shall be fully replaced at least every six months.
