16、oduction Batch Parts manufactured and processed to a particular processing schedule, which demonstrates that the requirements can be met and enable the processing schedule to be qualified on those parts. 4 Rules for the drafting and presentation of EN process standards Note: Symbols for quantities a
17、nd units of measurement shall be in accordance with IS0 31-0, 31-1, 31-3, 31-4, 31-9,31-11 and IS0 1000. 4.1 Page 1 : Title of the process standard The title shall give sufficient information to unambiguously identify the process and its intended application. Consequently: 1. The same title shall no
18、t be used for different process standards. 2. Overlapping of applicability of the process shall not be permitted. Each part of the title shall form one or several different lines: - Aerospace series - The family of the process - An unambiguous description and applicability of the process Where refer

29、ed and are specific to a particular standard. Clause 4 : Classification When required this clause shall state the various treatment classeskategories specified in the standard. An alphabetical expression shall be used to identify the class. Clause 5 : Equipment/Apparatus and Materials This clause sh
30、all state the technical requirements relating to any equipmentiapparatus or material required to undertake the process. Two cases are possible: a) The process does not require the use of any controlled equipmentiapparatus or material, in which case this clause is written as follows:- “Commonly used
31、equipment/apparatus (and/or materials) shall be used.” or b) The process requires the use of specific equipmenVapparatus or material, e.g., vacuum vaporisation chamber, pulsating current generator, material to a specification number etc., in which case the clause shall describe the equipment/apparat
32、us/materials together with all necessary technical requirements. Proprietary names shall not be use. Materials applicable to the process described within the standard, e.g., anodes etc., which are required to be controlled, should be fully described as part of the process control (e.g., plating solu
33、tion control) identified within the process standard, however, if a material is already adequately covered by an existing material standard e.g., steel shot to EN2749, than this shall be stated. Alternatively, when no material standard exists at the sponsors discretion a material standard may be cre
34、ated to cover the requirements. Clause 6 : information to be supplied to the processor This clause shall state ALL the necessary information to be supplied by the purchaser to the processor to enable the processor to correctly process the parts to achieve the necessary technical requirements. Clause
35、 7 : Condition of the parts supplied to the processor This clause shall state the condition of the parts prior to the application of the process as defined within the process standard. Considerations to be addressed are:- - requirements for surface texture - any physico-chemical properties at the su

37、 stress relief requirements - any requirements relating to the completion of other manufacturing operations e.g., weldinghrazing, other surface treatments, peening etc - any requirements for completion of material inspection, e.g., Non-destructive testing, grinding abuse etc Clause 8 : Process sched
38、ule This clause shall state all those operations which are dependent on other considerations and shall be suitably annotated in brackets as “either when required” or ”when applicable” or by a qualifying statement relating to when they shall be applied. The order of presentation shall be grouped unde
39、r three headings as follows;- 8.1 Pre-treatment 8.2 Treatment 8.3 Post treatment The listings shall begin with the words:- “Unless otherwise agreed with the purchaser, the following process schedule is mandatory” Clause 8.1 : Pretreatment When required, this clause shall state ALL the necessary pre-
40、treatments, in correct chronological order. The description shall provide guidance on pre-treatment selections where appropriate, and shall state any limitations which may be applicable. Where there is no pre-treatment requirements the clause shall state: “No requirements”. Clause 8.2 : Treatment Th
41、is clause shall state the treatment process. Any specific details regarding such items as, the process solution, composition control, make up instructions, material controls , impur controls, operational controls, etc., shall be detailed in a normative annex referenced by this clause. Clause 8.3 : P
42、ost treatment When required, this clause shall state ALL the necessary post treatment requirements (e.g., mechanical, chemical, physico-chemical, heat treatment etc.,) in chronological order. The wording shall cover all permitted variations. Where there are no post treatment requirements the clause
43、shall state: “No requirements” Clause 9 : Removal of surface treatment When required, this clause shall state the condition under which the surface treatment may be removed. Clause 11 : Inspection This clause comprises three elements- - Inspection requirements of the parts after processing
45、- Inspection requirements of any test pieces - Inspection requirements relating to the process If necessary the clause may refer to a normative annex, tabulating the requirements. Clause 11.1 : Inspection requirements of the parts after processing This clause shall be sub-divided according to each c
46、haracteristic described under clause 10. Against each characteristic there shall be a statement of the test method to be used to asses that characteristic. Clause 11.2 : Inspection requirements of any test pieces This clause shall state the required definition of the test pieces and their relationsh
47、ip to the parts if their use is permitted in lieu of part inspection. Clause 11.3 : Inspection requirements relating to the process This clause shall state ALL the necessary requirements relating to the process, such as: - temperature calibration of heating equipment - analysis of process solutions
