The pur- pose of this standard is to compile, from already existing American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or Inter- national Standards Organization (ISO) standards, the available dimensions and corresponding tolerances of the most commonly used cores and s

It is hoped that, where possible, adher- ence to the standards listed will ensure maximum compatibility and interchangeability of sensitized products and exposing hardware. Some sizes of microfilm spools, notably 105mm, which are used in the industry, are not

8、 currently standardized. However, recommended dimensions for 105mm spools have been included to make the document more complete. These drive holes ensure correct film orientation dur- ing loading in hardware utilizing two drive pins. See figure 1, Metal spool. The two offset drive holes

17、 are mandatory for plastic spools. Because of plastic molding techniques in use, the offset drive holes may be rotated from the position shown in figure 1, Metal spool. See figure 2, Plastic spool. However, in spite of their appearance, these drive holes shall be functionally the same. 45“ 4 Film sl

18、ot S in table 1 and figure 1 has been added to specify the minimum width of the film slot. The preferred spool design specified in this standard calls for a single keyway in both flanges (except 105mm). Planetary microfilm equipment presently exists which requires 35mm spools with a double keyway in

19、 one flange. Therefore, to permit manufacturing economies, 16mm and 35mm spools with double keyways in one or both flanges are recognized temporarily until the 35mm equipment in the field requiring a double keyway is phased out. However, some manufacturers will use only spools with single keyways; t

20、herefore, equipment manufacturers are advised against designing hardware that requires spools with double keyways.
