2、is specification covers a scroll-type flight check list holder. 2 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are cited in sections 3 and 4 of this specification. These lists do not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or recommended for addition

13、5B 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.2. 3.2 Recvcled. recovered. or environmentallv ureferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible

14、 provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle cost. 3.3 Materials. All materials shall be suitably treated to resist corrosion due to electrolytic decomposition and any atmospheric condition that may be en

15、countered during operational use or storage. The use of toxic chemicals, hazardous substances, or ozone depleting chemicals (ODCs) shall be avoided, whenever feasible. 3.3.1 and terminals. The flight check list holder shall be wired for 28 Volts direct current (Vdc). There shall be a set of electric

16、al input terminals on each end of the flight check list holder case. Terminals shall accept MS25036 terminal lugs. 3.4.2 Mounting bracket holes. The mounting bracket shall have two 0.19 inch diameter holes for mounting screws on 2 f 0.03 inch centers placed symmetrically about the center of the moun

17、ting bracket. The holes shall be counterbored to a diameter of 0.28 plus 0.03 minus 0.00 inch, and to a depth of 0.16 inch. The counterbored holes shall be on the face of the mounting bracket that folds against the end of the flight check list holder case, as shown in figure 1. 3.4.3 Compatibility w

18、ith cockpit lighting. The color of the emitted light shall be compatible with the cockpit lighting systems as specified by the procuring activity (see 6.2). 3.5 Components. The flight check list holder shall include a case, lens, and mounting bracket. The flight check list holder shall be furnished

The dimensions of the flight check list holder components shall conform to those listed on figure 1. 3.7 Weight. The weight of the flight check

21、 list holder shall be one pound or less. 3.8 Color. The color of the flight check list holder case shall be flat black. 3.9 Performance. 3.9.1 CaDacitv. The flight check list holder and each rolier shall hold a minimum of eight feet of a scroll check list, 2.8 f 0.1 inches wide and 0.005 inch thick.

22、 3.9.2 Visibilitv. Print on the scroll check list shall be readable through the lens with the flight check list holder light at fll power. 3.9.3 Movement of scroll check list. Means shall be provided to move a scroll check list across the lens in both directions. The scroll check list shall be posit

23、ioned in the flight check list holder such that it does not contact the light or is in continuous contact with the lens. Means shall be provided to keep the scroll check list taut. 3.9.4 Light. The flight check list holder shall have a light that illuminates the scroll check list from inside the cas

24、e. The light shall have a spherical candlepower of 0.4. The light shall operate on 28 & 1 Vdc, or a means of converting 28 Vdc to that compatible with the light shall be provided. The light shall be continuously adjustable from no candlepower (o to full candlepower. The control for the light shall h

25、ave the capability to positively switch the light off. 3.9.5 Mounting bracket. The mounting bracket shall permit rotation of the flight check list holder fkom O“ (the position shown in figure 1) to 90“ (ends of the case parallel to the mounting bracket). The mounting bracket shall have a positive me

26、ans for maintaining the flight check list holder in the 90“ position, in the O“ position, and in at least one position intermediate between these two positions. Rotation of the flight check list holder beyond the 90“ position is optional. The mounting bracket shall maintain the flight check list hol

27、der in each position with 10 lbs of force applied to the upper center of the check list holder (above the lens) or to the center of the back of the holder. 3.9.6 m. The lens shall not crack or chip upon impact. 3.9.7 Case. The flight check list holder case shall have the capability to have the mount

28、ing bracket installed on either end. The case shall not crack, chip, or deform upon impact. 3.9.8 Scroll text indicator. 29、5b m MIL-PRF-83755B . 3.1 O Item identification. The flight check list holder and replaceable parts shall be marked with the following identification: a, Item name. b. Manufacturers identification c. Manufacturers CAGE code. d. Manufacturers part number (PN). e. Part identification number (PIN). 3.1

30、 1 Interchangeabilitv. All parts having the same manufacturers part number shall be functionally and dimensionally interchangeable. 3.12 Durability. The flight check list holder shall operate properly after 2,000 scrolling cycles. A scrolling cycle is defined as full movement of an eight-foot scroll

31、 check list from one end to the other and back. 3.13 Commnent replacement. 3.13.1 Lens redacement. The lens shall be replaceable within two minutes. 3.13.2 Light replacement. The light bulb shall be replaceable within one minute. 4 VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of insmctions. The inspection requir

32、ements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2). b. Conformance inspections (see 4.3). 4.2 First article inspection. When required (see 3. i), first article shali be performed on three flight checklist holders. First article inspection shall consist of all te

33、sts in 4.6 and 4.7. 4.3 Conformance insDection. Conformance inspection shall include the individual tests in 4.6 and sampling tests in 4.7. Sampling shall be in accordance with ANSYASQC 21.4 commencing at the normal inspection level, unless modified in the acquisition documents (see 6.2). 4.4 Test c

34、onditions. Unless otherwise specified in the acquisition documents (see 6.2), all inspections shall be pedormed in accordance with the test conditions specified in the applicable test method documents or applicable paragraphs in this specification. 4.5 Requirements cross-reference matrix. Each

37、flight check list holder shall be examined to determine conformance with materials, weight, dimensions, components, lens color, scroll text indicator, capacity, interchangeability, item identification, and case color. 4.6.2 Movement of the scroll check list. With each flight check list holder fully

38、assembled and a scroll check list mounted in the flight check list holder, the scroll checklist shall be moved one foot in one direction and then one foot in the opposite direction. The scroll check list shall not contact the light source or the lens during movement or when it is stationary. When th

39、e scroll check list is stationary, it shall be taut. 4.6.3 Visibilitv. This test shall be conducted in a dark room with no sources of light. With the flight check list holder fully assembled, a printed scroll check list mounted in the flight check list holder, and the flight checklist holder light a

40、t full power, the print on the scroll check list shall be readable through the lens. 4.6.4 Electrical wiring and terminals. The terminals on the flight check list holder shall be connected to a 28 Vdc source using MS25036 terminal lugs. The light shall be adjusted Com the off position through full p

41、ower using the light control. As the light control is moved, the light shall become continuously brighter until the light control reaches the full power position. Deliberate movement of the light control shall be required move the light control fiom the off position. The voltage across the terminals

42、 of the holder shall measure 28 f 1 Vdc. The flight check list holder shall be ful

43、ly assembled with an eight-foot scroll check list mounted in the flight check list holder. The mounting bracket shall be anchored by the mounting screws to a flat, horizontal surfixe. The flight check list holder shall be attached to the mounting bracket. With the flight check list holder case in th

44、e 90“ position (end of the case parallel to the mounting bracket), a 10-lb force shall be.applied to the upper center of the face of the flight check list holder case (above the lens). The flight checklist holder shall not move when the force is applied. In the same position, a 10-lb force shall be

45、applied to the center of the back of the case. The flight check list holder shall not move when the force is applied. This test shall be repeated for the O“ position (shown in figure i), for the intermediate position between O“ and 90“ in which the mounting bracket is designed to hold the flight che

46、ck list holder, and for any other intermediate positions. When these tests are complete, the opposite end of flight check list holder shall be attached to the mounting bracket and these tests shall be repeated. 4.7 Sampling tests. Samples shall be selected from each production lot in accordance with

47、 ANSI/ASQC 21.4 and subjected to the tests below. 4.7.1 m. The lens shall be conditioned for four hours at 70 to 85F. At the end of the four- hour conditioning period, the lens shall be placed in a wood and steel fiame in a horizontal plane, as specified in ANSI 226.1. A 0.5 lb -i 1 ounce (oz) solid

48、, smooth, steel sphere shall be dropped 30 feet f 2 inches, once, fieely, and from rest, striking the lens within one-half inch of its center. The ball shall be allowed to make only one impact with the lens. No cracks or chips in the lens shall be visible after the test. 4.7.2 w. The flight check li

49、st holder case with the lens and light removed shall be placed lens- side down on a level horizontal surface. A 1.0 lb f 1 oz solid, smooth, steel sphere shall be dropped 30 feet f 2 inches, once, freely, and from rest, striking the back side of the flight check list holder case within 1 inch of its center. The ball shall be allowed to make only one impact with each case. No cracks, chips, or deformation of the case shall be visible after the test. 4.7.3 Lens reulacement. The flight check list holder case shaii be opened, the lens shall be removed
