The antenna input shall be made through a type 3.3.2.3 Finishes 3.3.2.3.1 Cases and front panels. the cockpit area shall have a black
17、 wrinkle finish. Cases and front panels of equipment installed in 3.3.2.4 Meters (electrical indicating instruments) 3.3.2.4.1 A suitable elapsed time indicator, subject to the approval of the procuring activity, shall be provided on the front of the CY-2624/ARN-67 case to indicate accrued operation

Vacuum tubes shall not be used 3.3.3 Design and construction 3.3.3.1 All equipment units shall be designed to cool by free convection. If air vents are required, they shall be designe
19、d and protected as necessary to preclude entry of harmful foreign materials. 3.3.3.2 Interference. Electronic interference shall be controlled in the basic design of all units of the Receiving Set, Radio AN/ARN-67. The equipment shall also be designed to minimize susceptibility to interference from
20、external sources. Interference control requirements shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-826. Cooling. 3.3.3.3 Reliability, longevity, and maintainability 3.3.3.3.1 Reliability program. assurance program in accordance with MIL-STD -785. 3.3.3.3.2 Reliability and longevity. Reliability and longevity o
21、f the AN/ARN-67 receiving set shall be determined in accordance with MIL-STD-781. 3.3.3.3.2.1 MTBF. The minimum acceptable mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) of the receiving set shall be 600 hours. The contractor shall establish and conduct a reliability 3.3.3.3.2.2 Longevity. Longevity of the receiv
22、ing set shallbe no less than 3000 hours. 3.3.3.3.3 Maintainability 3.3.3.3.3.1 Maintainability program. The contractor shall establish a maintainability program plan in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-470. 3.3.3.3.3.2 Maintainability demonstration. Maintainability demonstration require-

The receiving set shall be designated as a categor
24、y B (dc) utilization equipment in accordance with MIL-STD-704 with exceptions or additions specified herein. 3.3.3.4.1 as defined in MIL-STD-704. No performance shall be required under abnormal or emergency conditions 3.3.3.4.2 Power requirements. The electrical power required by the receiving set f
25、or the performance specified herein shall not exceed 975 milliamperes at a nominal 28V dc. 3.3.3.4.3 Power source transients. The transient conditions shall be as specified in MIL-STD-704. 3.3.3.5 Service conditions (environmental). Class 2 equipment requirements of MIL-E-5400 shall apply except as
26、specified herein. 3.3.3.5.1 Temperature-altitude combination. The equipment shall withstand exposure while operating at surrounding air temperature of +71“C at an altitude of 65,000 feet without causing permanent damage to the equipment. 3.3.3.5.1.1 Surroundiw air pressure. The air pressure surround
27、ing the equipment shall be assumed equal to free stream static pressure. The surrounding air pressure may vary at rates as high as 0.25 psia between 14.7 to 0.83 psia. The receiving set shall not require pressurization from the aiTcraft. ! 3.3.3.5.2 Vibration 3.3.3.5.2.1 Equipment normally mounted (
28、simulating aircraft installation). When normally mounted the equipment shall meet the requirement of this specification when subjected to 0.080 inch double amplitude until +0.41g is reached continuing 10.41g until 0.036 inch double amplitude is reached, continuing 0.036 inch double amplitude until i
29、4g is reached, and continuing i4g to 500 Hz. 3.3.3.5.2.2 Acceleration loads. All parts of the airplane will be subjected to steady state accelerations during flight, landing, takeoff and ground handling operations. 31、ng Set MX-2756/ARN-67. The MX-2756/ARN-67 chassis shall be designed to contain all necessary connections and intermodular wiring plus common circuitry for the receiving set. The chassis shall provide proper mounting provisions for the three modules. 3.4.2 Case, Radio Receiving Set CY-2624/ARN-67. Th
32、e CY-2624/ARN-67 case shall enclose the receiving set and shall be constructed in accordance with MIL-C-172. When the case is closed, the receiving set shall be impervious to dust and rain, whether on or off its mounting. A suitable handle for removing and handling the receiving set shall be provide
33、d on the front of the case. A minimum clearance of 3/4-inch shall be allowed between the r-f coaxial antenna connector and the handle to permit the use of a Boonton type UG-88/U pad, or equal. 3.4.3 Mounting; MT-1454/ARN-31 or MT-1906/ARN-31. The receiving set shall be so designed that it will mount
34、 on Mounting MT-1454/ARN-31 or MT-l906/ARN-31 as specified in MIL-R-9486. Whenproperly mounted, the receiving set shall not exceed the sway space requirements of Drawing 54E24306. 3.4.4 Control requirements. The receiving set shall be so designed that selection of glide slope frequency and on-off co
35、ntrol can be remotely controlled by Control, Receiver C-1464/ARN-31, as specified in MIL-R-9486. The r-f portions of the equipment shall be crystal con- trolled. Crystal units shall be in accordance with MIL-C-3098; subminiature crystals may be used.
39、3.4.6 Screwdriver adjustments. The following screwdriver adjustments shall be provided in the form of high torque controls. These controls shall be contained within the F-423/ARN filter module and shall be properly identified: a. Deflection sensitivity b. Balance c. Flag alarm d. Audio gain. The equ
40、ipment shall be so designed that maintenance adjustments shall not be required while in flight. 3.4.7 Antenna input. The antenna input shall be 52 ohms unbalanced. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) at the antenna input shall be less than 10:l. I I 3.4.8 Fail-safe design. The equipment shall inc
41、orporate ccfail-safe design fea- tures. Malfunctioning of the equipment shall in no way contribute to the destruction of that equipment or any part of the weapon system which would result in loss of life. 3.4.9 Human engineering. The principles and requirements of human engineering shall be in accor
42、dance with MIL-H-27894 and MIL-STD-803. 3.5 Performance, The Receiving Set, Radio AN/ARN-67 shall perform glide slope receiver functions. Equipment performance shall be compatible with the requirements for signal transmissions as defined in MIGR-4146. I 3.5.1 Frequency. The r-f portions of the equip
43、ment shall be crystal controlled. The frequency range shall be from 329.3 to 335.0 MHz inclusive, with channel spacings of 0.3 MHz. 3.5.2 Indicator circuits. The indicator circuits shall convert the 90- and 150-Hz modulation of the received glide slope signal into direct current for operation of the
44、 horizontal pointer of Indicator, Low approach ID-525/ARN, as defined by MIL-1-25355, or equal. The indicator circuits shall consist of amplifiers feeding into 90- and 150-Hz filters whose output shall be rectified and fed to a course indicator in such a manner that the horizontal pointer shall defl
45、ect upward whenever the 150-Hz signal predominates and downward whenever the 90-Hz signal predominates. The design shall be based on each flag alarm movement having a resistance of 1000 ohms *3 percent with

It shall be possible to replace any indicator by its equivalent resistance without affecting the performance of the remaining indicators. 3.5.4 Flag alarm characteristics. The flag alarm output from the receiver, when fed to the course indicator, shall indicate failure of either or both the 90- and 150-Hz signal due t
