16、scarf shall be manufactured as follows, The supplier is not required to follow the exact sequence of operations, but all operations specified shall be used to manufacture the scarf, performed by using stitch type 301 and seam type SSa-1 of FED-STD-751with 10-14 stitches per inch as the minimum and m
17、aximum number permitted, breaks and all-ends of seams and stitches shall be backstitched not less than 1/2 inch. The stitching shall be Thread (a) Cutting, Cut material to proper width for scarf,with warp running the long direction. Tear material to proper length to permit even fringing. (b) Folding
18、, Fold fabric lengthwise, forming two plies, (e) Positioning label, Position label 1/2 to 3/4 inch from either open end so that bottom edge of label will be caught in seam and label will finish on inside of completed scarf. (d) Stifching. Stitch the two plies together 3/16 to 5/16 inch from raw side
19、 edge, catching bottom edge of label in stitching. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the suppl
23、ier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as Otherwise Specified in the contract or order,the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable or the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by th
24、e Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 &spection. Inspection shall be in accordance with the provisions set fo
25、rth in MIL-STD-105, except where otherwise indicated herein. 4.2.1 First article inspection. When first article is required, inspection shall be made of a completely fabricated scarf for conformance to all pro- visions of this specification. *4.2.2 Component and material inspection. In accordance wi
26、th 4.1 above, components and materials shall be tested in accordance with all the re- quirements o referenced specifications and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or qualified in this specification or applicable procurement documents. The methods of testing specified in FED-STD-
27、191, wherever applicable, and as listed in Table I shall be followed. The physical and chemical values specified in Section 3 apply to the results of the deter- minations made on a sample unit fc- test purposes as specified in the applicable test method. *4.2.3 Examination of the end item, The end i
28、tem shall be examined or defects (one class) listed in 4.2.3.1 and 4.2.3.2. The sample unit shall be one scarf. 43、lass weather resistant, grade VZS, size No. 2A of MIL-B-17757. 5.2.2 Level B. One hundred fifty (150) scarves, packaged as specified in 5,1,1, shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container conforming to class domestic, grade 200, size No. 2A of MIL-B-17757, assembled and closed as specified in
44、the appendix thereto. 5.2.3 Level C.
