2、efense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers two tTfpes of nylon tape. 1.2 Classification. The tapes shall be of the folloving types, as specified (see 6.2): Type I - 525 pounds breaking strength Type II - 300 pounds breaking strength 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. commenced, a sample of the finished item shall be submitted or made ready for the contracting officer or his authorized representative
6、 for inspection as specified in 4.2. The approval of the preproduction sample authorizes the commencement of production but does not relieve the supplier of responsibility for compliance with all applicable provisions of this specification. The pre- production sample shall be manufactured by the sup
7、plier in the same facilities to be used for the manufacture of the production items. Unless otherwise spectfied (see 6.2) , before production is * 3.2 Materials. * 3.2.1 Yarns. The nyzon yarn used in the manufacture of the tape shall be a polyamide prepared from hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid
8、 or its deriva- tives. It shall have a minimum melting point of 442O Centigrade (C). * 3.2.2 Warp yarn. The warp yarn used for both types shall be 210-denier, high tenacity, bright filament nylon prior to dyeing. * 3.2.3 FillinR yarn. The filling yarn shall be as follows: a. Type I - Spun nxlon of 2
9、0/4 yarn number 55 percent (cotton system), The filling yarn breaking strength shall be a minimum of 4.75 pounds when tested as specified in 4.3.1. b. !J?y-pe II - Spun nylon of 60/2 yarn number I5 percent (cotton system). The filling yarn breaking strength shall be a minimum of 0.90 pounds when tes
10、ted as specified in 4.3.1. * 3.2.4 Ply twist. shall have a minimum twist of 2-1/2 turns per inch, and the filling yarn for type II tape shall have a minimum twist of i5 turns per inch. The warp and final ply of the filling yarn for type I tape * 3.3 Weave. The weave shall be as follows: a. Type I -
11、Woven in a tubular construction using a plain weave. The warp ends max weave 2 ends as 1, or 1 end as 1. b. !Py-pe II - Two-up, two-down herring-bone twill, with one reversal of the weave in the middle of the tape. The tape shall h8ve.a woven selvage. * 3.4 Construction and physical properties. The
12、webbing shall conform to the construction and physical properties of Table I when tested as specified in 4.4. * 3.5 Color. Unless otherwise specified by the procuring activity, the color of both types of Cape shall be natural except. for the identification yarns for type I. If color is specified, sp
13、ecific colorfastness and appropriate test methods shall be specified by the procuring activity. (See 6.2) * 3.5.1 Identification yarn for type I. One black identification yarn shall be interwoven down the center of one side of the tape. 3.5.1.1 Colorfastness of identification yarn for type I. The id
