REQUIREMENTS3.1 Materials. Heating of material shall be accomplished in air or protective atmospherewhich will provide a

Tubing 0.125 inch outside diameter, and over, shall flare to therespective dimensions of MS33584, when tested as specified

20、 in 4.3.6. The flared zonesshall be uniform and smooth, and capable of forming pressuretight joints with standardfittings.3.3.2 Flattening. Tubing shall not develop cracks, tears, or other flaws when subjectedto the flattening test specified in 4.3.7.3.3.3 Bending. Tubing shall not develop cracks te

21、ars, breaks, or other flaws whensubjected to the bending test specified in 4.3.8.3.4 Corrosion resistance3.4.1 Resistance to acidified coppersulfate solution. The tubing shall exhibit noevidence of cracks due to intergranular attack when subjected to the examination afterexposure to boiling acidifie

22、d coppersulfate solution at the conditions specified inmethod E of ASTM A 262 and 4.3.9.3.4.2 Passivation treatment. Treatment of inner and outer surfaces by other thanpicking shall be followed by a passivation treatment in accordance with QQP35. Thesurfaces shall be passive to tests as specified in

23、 4.3.10.3.5 Surface conditions. Surface shall be smooth, have a grey metallic appearance andbe free from surface films, scale, flakes, or loose or adherent particles of foreign matter.All chemical bath residues shall have been removed by rinsing in flowing water,followed by thorough drying. Complian

24、ce shall be determined as specified in 4.3.2.3. 3.5.1 Surface roughness. Surface roughness shall not exceed an arithmetical averageroughness height rating (RHR) of 70 on inside surfaces or RHR 40 on outside surfaces,as defined by ANSI B 46.1. Discontinuities of equal or less depth in the outer surfaces oftubes shall be removed by light belt polishing or buffing; except that discontinuitieshaving large root radii plainly visible to the unaided eye, whose surfaces blend smoo

27、thlyinto the normal tube surface, need not be removed. Passivation treatment shall followany surface polishing or buffing operation. 28、nternal pressure P or15,000 pounds per square inch (psi), whichever is less, tubing shall show no bulging,leakage, or other defects, except that a diametric permanent set to 0.002 inch per inchof diameter is acceptable. Hydrostatic test pressure shall be calculated according to thefollowing formula:

30、ns and tolerances3.7.1 Dimensions. Tubing shall be furnished in the standard diameters and wallthickness specified in AND10104, as specified by the contract or purchase order. (see6.2).3.7.2 Tolerances. The outside diameter shall not vary from the nominal dimensions bymore than the permissible limit

When tubing is fabricated by welding, it shall be so processed as toremove the bead or any dimensional indication of the presence of the weld.3.9 Straightness. In no portion of any

Tubing of all sizes may be ordered to exact lengths or in lengthse

34、xpressed as a multiple of a definite unit, with tolerances as specified in the contract orpurchase order (see 6.2). 3.10.2 Mill lengths. When exact or multiple lengths are not specified (see 6.2) tubing willbe accepted in mill lengths of 5 to 20 feet, but not more than 10 percent of any ordershall b

35、e furnished in lengths shorter than 12 feet.3.11 Identification of product. Tubing shall be marked in accordance withFEDSTD183. The following additional marking items shall be included:MILT8504B Nominal outside diameter Nominal wall thickness3.11.1 Marking of tubing less than 14 inch outside diamete

36、r. In lieu of continuousmarking, tubing less than 14 inch outside diameter may be bundled and each bundleidentified by metal tags, impression stamped with the legend specified inFEDSTD183 and 3.11, and securely attached near each end of the bundle.3.12 Workmanship. Surfaces shall be free from discon

37、tinuities, such as; seams, tears,laminations, pits, or other injurious defects of depth in excess of the limits as specifiedin table III. Centerless grinding and grit blasting of outer and inner surfaces shall not beacceptable. Light belt polishing or buffing shall be permissible.4. QUALITY ASSURANC

38、E PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract orpurchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspectionrequirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwisespecified in the contract or purchase order, th

39、e contractor may use their own or anyother facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specifiedherein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right toperform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections aredeemed

40、necessary to ensure that the supplies and services conform to prescribedrequirements.4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of thecontractors overall inspection system or quality

41、 program. The absence of anyinspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of theresponsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government foracceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part ofmanufacturin

42、g operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance torequirements; however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material,either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defectivematerial.4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection require

Quality conformance inspection shall consist ofsampling plans A through J

44、specified herein. Samples shall be labeled completely withinformation identifying the purpose of the sample, name of product, specificationnumber, lot number, date of sampling and contract number.4.3.1 Inspection4.3.1.1 Inspection lot. A lot shall consist of one size and wall thickness from one heat

45、 ofsteel, and annealed in the same charge (batch anneal) or all tubing of the same sizeand heat annealed at the same temperature, time and atmosphere, without interruption,in a continuous furnace.4.3.2 Surface condition4.3.2.1 Conditioning of surface. A 1foot section shall be selected from each lot

46、oftubing and split lengthwise. Onehalf shall be immersed in an aqueous solution of 15percent nitric acid and 3 percent hydrofluoric acid by volume at 100F to 120F for 15minutes. After immersion, the specimen shall be washed and dried. The two halvesshall then be compared as to the appearance of inne

47、r and outer surfaces. Difference incolor and appearance, other than minor changes in shade and texture, shall be causefor rejection. 4.3.2.2 Loose material. Wads of firmly compacted clean white cloth or fibrous materialshall be forced through the bore of each of two sample tubes selected from each l

48、ot,and any soiled areas examined at 10 x magnification for the presence of grit, metallicflakes, or other detrimental materials. The presence of such particles shall be cause forrejection.4.3.2.3 Surface roughness. A 1foot section shall be selected from each lot of tubingand split lengthwise. The inner and outer surfaces of both halves shall be examined forsurface waviness and lay in accordance wi
