This standard is intended for the guidance of t

2、he industry, including manufacturers, engineers, installers, contractors and users. 1.13 Review and Amendment. This standard is subject to review and amendment as technology advances. Section2. Scope 2.1 Scope. This standard applies to factory manufactured, thermay regenerate, dynamic desiccant comp

3、onents operating at atmospheric pressure as defined in Section 3. only the desiccant containing component is subject to this standard. Blowers, heat exchangers, evapdve coolers, drive motors, etc. are not rated within this standard, but may be subject to other ARI standards. 2.2 Exclusions. This sta

4、ndard does not apply to liquid desiccant components, regenemive heat exchangers (enthalpy wheels) containing desiccant, nor desiccant components intended or used for packaging or other static applications. Section 3. Definitions 3.1 Definitions. All terms in this document will follow the standard in

5、dustry definitions in the current edition of ASHRAE Terminology of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Rejiigeration unless otherwise defned in this section. 3.2 Airflow. The rate of flow of air in ch m3/hr is defined as the process supply air (leaving the device) and regeneration outlet (lea

6、ving). 33 Atmospheric Pressure. For the purposes of this standard, atmospheric pressure is defined as 29.92 in. Hg 1101.325 kPa. 3.4 Component. An assembly which includes the drive motor and the desiccantanthing meia/matrix within a housing containing air separation seals as provided by the manufact

7、urer. 3.5 Moisture Removal Capacity (MRC). The moisture removed in lbh F grains of moisture containe in a sample of moist air per pound of dry air contained within the same sample. ( Note: 7000 grains = one pound.) or wherc MRC = Moisture Removal Capacity in kgni v, GPK = grams per kilogmm, g/kgda -

8、 humidity ratio; grams of moisture contained in a sample of moist air per kilogam of dry air contained within the same sample. = pic volume of air, m3/kg, 3.6 Processes. 3.6.1 Dynamic. A process in which both the “sorption” and “desorpti0n” processes are aided by air moving devices and the desiccant

9、 is termally regenerated in place. 3.6.2 Static. A statemeat of the assigned values of those performance characteristics, under stated rating conditions, by which a unit

11、 may be chosen to fit its application. These dues apply to all units of like nominal size and type (identification) produced by the same manufactura. As used herein, the term “published rating“ includes the rating of all performance Characteristics shown on the unit or published in specifications, a

12、dvertising or other literature controlled by the manufimurer, at stated rating conditions. 3.7.1 Standard Rating. A rating based on tests performed at Standard Rating Conditions. 3.7.2 Application Rating. A rating based on tests performed at application rating conditions (other than Standard Rating

13、Conditions). 3.8 Rating Conditions. Any set of operating conditions under which a single level of performance results, and which causes only that level of perfomnnce to occur. 3.8.1 Standard Rating Conditions. Rating conditions used as the basis of comparison for performance characteristics. 3.9 Reg

14、eneration. Desorption of the desiccant by thermal means. 3.10 “Shall,“ “Should,“ “Recommended,“ or IIt Is Recomrtded“ “Shall,“ “should,“ “recommended,“ or “it is recommended“ shall be interpreted as follows: 3.10.1 Shall. Where “shall“ or “shail not“ is used for a provision specified, that provision

15、 is mandatory if compliance with the standard is claimed. 3.10.2 Should, Reconunertded, or It Is Recommended. “Should,“ “recommended“ or “it is recommended“ is used to indicate provisions which are not mandatory but which are desirable as good practice. Section 4. Classification 4.1 Classijkation. T

Test Requirements 5.1 Method of Testing. All srandard ratings shall be verified by tests conducted in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 1

19、39. 5.2 Elecrical Requirements. The tests shall be made at the elecical characteristics specied on the unit nameplate. If dual characteristics are shown on the nameplate, tests shaU be made to satisfy either rating. 5.3 Minimum Test Requirements. Tests shall be made using three different process air

20、 faCe velocities. Section 6. Rating Requirements 6.1 Published Ratings. Published ratings &ali include Standard Ratings, and m

23、ay also include Application Ratings. Published ratings include those shown on the desicCant cooling or dehumidifying component or published in specications, advertising, or other literature controlled by the manufacturer. 6.1.1 If the use of a wt drive motor, housing or air-separation seal affects t

24、he performance of the desiccant cooling or dehumidifying component, the pubiished ratings shall include a statement describing the mditions under which the compnent was tested. 6.16 When optionai constnictons, arrangements or appinteaiances including drive motors, housings or air- separation seas ar

25、e offered by the manufacturer, published ratings sha clearly indicate their effect un the performance. 6.2 Standard Ratings. Siandard Ratings shall be established at the Standard Rating Conditions specified in Table 1, using a minimum of three of the four conditions, with a tolerance of iO.5“F iO.3“

26、C dry bulb and M.5“F E-rO.3“CI wet bulb. All Standard Ratings shall be verified by tests as described in Section 5. Standard Ratings shall include: 6.2.1 Moisture Removal Capacity. The Moisture Removal Capacity (MRC) shall be expressed in lb/h kglh, rounded to the first decimal place for MRC less th

27、an or equal to 24.0 lb/h, or to the whole number for MRC greater than 24.0 lbh. 63 Application Ratings. Application Ratings may be established at conditions other than those specified in Table 1 of this standard. 63.1 Extension of Test Data. Test data may be extended to other components of like geom

28、etrylclassinction based upon equal face velocity of both the process and regeneration air streams and equal regenemion air temperature. Test data sha not be extended by use of fan laws. Test data shall not be extended to components classified Werently per Section 4 of this standard. 6.4 Publication

29、ofRatings. Wherever application ratings are published or printed, they shall include or be accompanied by the Standard Ratings, clearly designated as such, including a statement of the conditions at which the ratings apply. 6.5 Tolerances. To comply with this standard, published ratings shali be suc

30、h that any desiccant cooling and/or dehumidincatian component production unit shall produce a Moisture Removal Capacity no less than 95% of the published rating. Section 7. Minimum Data Requirements for Published Ratings 7.1 Duta Requirements. Data requirements for Published Ratings shall include th
