、 vacuum breaker, a hose connection vacuum breaker, or a hose connection backflow preventer that is integral to the commercial dishwashing machine.3.1.2 ProcedureConnect the commercial dishwashing machine water inlet(s) to a combination water supply and vacuum test header. Operate the dishwashing mac

、hine through one complete cycle. Connect a sight glass in a vertical position to the discharge of the vacuum breaker, as illustrated in Figure 1. Fill the dishwashing machine with 180 F 5.0 F (82.2 C 2.8 C) water to its normal operating level. Foul the backflow preventer in accordance to the procedu

The equipment shall be capable of developing a vacuum of at least 25.0 inches (635 mm) mercury column.

、Tests shall be conducted in sequence. While the wash cycle is operating (wash pump operating), open the dishwashing machine supply valves and subject the dishwashing machine to a range of vacuum from 0 inches through 25.0 inches (0 mm through 635 mm), then 25.0 inches through 0 inches (635 mm throug

、h 0 mm) of mercury as follows:a) Instantly apply a constant vacuum of at least 25.0 inches (635 mm) of mercury for a period of at least thirty (30) seconds. Remove the vacuum. Repeat a total of five (5) times.b) Apply intermittent vacuums of 2.0, 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, and 25.0 inches (51 mm, 130 mm, 254

、mm, 381 mm, and 635 mm) of mercury. Each application shall be for five (5) seconds on and five (5) seconds off.c) Slowly apply a vacuum increasing at a uniform rate, from 0 to 25.0 inches (0 mm to 635 mm) of mercury. Then, slowly apply a vacuum decreasing at a uniform rate from 25.0 inches to 0 inch

、es (635 mm to 0 mm) of mercury. Repeat total of five (5) times.NOTE: In all tests, vacuum levels are sea level values. Appropriate adjustments shall be made to account for changes in elevation. Subtract the quantity (altitude in feet/1000) in inches from the designed vacuums above to correct for alt

、itudes above sea level. For instance, if the altitude above sea level is 700 feet, subtract (700/1000) = 0.7 inches from each of the vacuum measurements, i.e. 25.0 - 0.7 = 24.3 inches of mercury, etc. Multiply inches by 25.4 to convert to millimeters.Commercial Dishwashing Machines 5ASSE Standard #1
