6、 standard was originally issued in April, 1976; accepted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in 1979 and revised in April 1986, 1998, 2003 and 2009.Water mixing (also defined as tempering or blending) valves are used extensively in water service applications to mix hot and cold water

7、 to reduce high service water temperature to the building distribution piping system.This class of valve is intended to be installed at the hot water source. These devices are designed for primary automatic control of the hot water distribution temperature within a rea-sonable degree of uniformity.T

8、o provide final temperature control, ASSE 1017 devices should be supplemented by a point-of-use device or in-line device designed to control final temperature. High temperature limit alarms and/or temperature limiting devices may also be used to monitor or further control point of use water temperat

9、ure.Recognition is made of the time volunteered by members of this working group and of the support of the manufacturers who also participated in the meetings for this standard.This standard does not imply ASSEs endorsement of a product which conforms to these requirements.Compliance with this stand

Maintain the cold water temperature to within 2.0F ( 1.1C) for the duration of the test.With V2 fully open, interactively adjust V1, the device outlet temperature adjustment and the hot and cold supply pressu

13、res so that both P1 and P2 are at 45.0 psi 1.0 psi (310.3 kPa 6.9 kPa), P3 is at 35.0 psi 1.0 psi (241.3 kPa 6.9 kPa) i.e. a pressure differential between P1 and P3 and between P2 and P3 is 10.0 psi 0.5 psi (68.9 kPa 3.4 kPa) and the mixed water temperature at T3 is 110.0F 2.0F (43.3C 1.1C). Maintai

14、n P1 and P2 at 45.0 psi 1.0 psi (310.3 kPa 6.9 kPa) for the duration of the test.a. Allow water to flow for one (1) minute. Record the flow, the temperatures at T1, T2 and T3 and the pressures at P1, P2 and P3.b. Using V2, reduce the mixed water flow by 50%. Allow water to flow for one (1) minute. R

15、ecord the flow, the temperatures at T1, T2 and T3 and the pressures at P1, P2 and P3. c. Increase the temperature of the hot water supply by 25.0F 1.0F (13.9C 0.6C) within five (5) minutes. Allow water to flow for one (1) minute. Record the flow, the temperatures at T1, T2 and T3 and the pressures a

16、t P1, P2 and P3.d. Fully open V2. Allow water to flow for one (1) minute. Record the flow, the temperatures at T1, T2 and T3 and the pressures at P1, P2 and P3.3.2.3 CriteriaFailure to maintain the temperature within the permissible temperature variations shown in Table 1 shall result in a rejection

17、 of the device.3.3 Hydrostatic Pressure Test3.3.1 PurposeThe purpose of this test is to verify that the device can withstand a hydrostatic pressure test of 500.0 psi (3447.4 kPa) without any leakage.3.3.2 ProcedureWith the outlet(s) blocked and seating member(s) fully open, pressurize the devices bo

18、dy with cold water to 500.0 psi (3447.4 kPa). Hold this pressure for a period of five (5) minutes. Observe the device for leakage.3.3.3 CriteriaAny leakage through the valve body shall result in a rejection of the device.6 Temperature Actuated Mixing Valves for Hot Water Distribution SystemsASSE 101

19、7 - 2009Section IV4.0 Detailed Requirements4.1 MaterialsMetal alloys in contact with potable water shall not exceed 8% lead content. Solders and fluxes in contact with potable water containing lead in excess of 0.2% shall not be used.4.2 Installation and Maintenance Instructions4.2.1 Instructions fo

20、r installing, adjusting and maintaining the device shall be included with each device.4.2.2 The packaging or installation instructions for the device shall include the following information:a. Device size.b. Temperature range or maximum setting.c. Maximum working pressure.4.2.3 The instructions shal

21、l indicate that the installation and field adjustment of the device are the responsibility of the installer and shall be carried out in accordance with the manufac-turers instructions.4.2.4 External means for temperature adjustment, when provided, shall be accessible while the device is in service.4

22、.2.5 Internal controlling components shall be accessible for repair and/or replacement without disturbing the pipe connections.4.2.6 When the device does not incorporate integral check valves, the manufacturers instructions shall include a recommendation to use a check valve(s) to prevent cross-flow

23、.4.3 Identifications and Markings4.3.1 Each device shall have the following information marked on it and all markings shall be visible in the installed position.a. Name of manufacturer or trademark.b. Model number.c. Hot and cold indications on inlets.4.3.2 The markings shall be cast, etched, stampe

24、d, engraved or permanently inked on the body of the device, or on a brass or stainless steel plate securely attached to the device with a corrosion resistant means; or on a decal attached by adhesive that shall secure it permanently to the device.4.3.3 The external valve outlet temperature adjusting
