Keywords: Cotton, Module, Safety 1 Purpose and Scope 1.1 The purpose of this Standard is to provide uniform equipment size guidelines for manufacturers that produce cotton module builders and transporters. Standardization w

14、ill allow harvesting equipment, module builders, transporters, and module covers from various manufacturers to be used compatibly throughout the cotton industry and so avoid problems caused by incompatible equipment dimensions. This Standard also promotes consideration of safety in equipment operati

The height (A) in Figure 1 is measured from the ground level to the highest horizontal projection which

18、it will be necessary to clear in order to dump cotton into the module builder and shall not be greater than 3.35-m (11.0 ft). 19、ension measured at the base of the module builder. The width (B) in Figure 1 shall be 2.21 to 2.30 m (7.25 to 7.54 ft). 3.3 Length (C) in Figure 1 shall not be greater than 9.75 m (32.0 ft) measured at the base of the module. 3.4 Taper (D) in Figure 1 on the two sides and two ends of the module buil

20、der shall be 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) inward for each 304.9 mm (12 in.) of vertical rise. 3.5 The height (K) of the module builder is measured from the ground to the point at which the sides flare outward. This height (K) in Figure 1 shall be no greater than 2.59 m (8.5 ft). 3.6 The operating weight of the

21、 module builder shall include hydraulic fluid and added ballast. 3.7 Working height is defined as the maximum vertical dimension that can be attained by any component on the builder during normal operation in the field. Working height may be determined from dimensional layout drawings and shall be e

22、xpressed in meters to the nearest hundredth (feet to the nearest tenth). 3.8 Transport height is defined as the maximum vertical dimension that can be attained by any component on the module builder when it is prepared for travel on a public roadway. Transport height may be determined from dimension

23、al layout drawings and shall be expressed in meters to the nearest hundredth (feet to the nearest tenth). 4 Transporter Dimensions 4.1 All dimensions of the module transporter (Figure 2) or module mover truck (Figure 3) shall conform to all applicable federal and state departments of transportation

24、requirements. The following specifications may not include all applicable regulations. 25、9.0 ft). 4.3 The length (G) in Figures 2 and 3 of transporter and wheel base shall be 14.6 m (48.0 ft) or less. 4.4 Loading angle (J) shall be 14 deg (or less) measured from horizontal to the loading surface. 4.5 Van bodies, if used, shall be 2.74 m (9.0 ft) or less in width. Adequate marking and li

26、ghting shall be provided. Vertical clearance shall be 4.42 m (14.5 ft) or less. NOTE: Check state regulations for width and vertical clearance allowances. 5 Safety 5.1 Items related to safety shall conform to the following ASAE Standards: ASAE S207, ANSI/ASAE S276, ANSI/ASAE S277, ANSI/ ASAE S279, ASAE S335, ANSI/ASAE S338. 5.2 Cotton module builders and module transporters shall meet all applicable portions of ANSI/ASAE S318 not specifically mentioned in this Standard.
