12、l, Environment, Filter, HVAC, Procedures, Safety, Terminology, Test, Tractor, Ventilation 1 Scope This part of the S613 standard series is concerned with the generally accepted design principles and test procedures that define and qualify a filter for an HVAC system used in contaminated environments

13、 as part of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). This document is intended to be a guide for engineers who are responsible for designs used in agricultural applications and for application specialists who are looking for a filter to be used when operating in a specific hazard

14、ous environment. Filter performance specifications for the cab and HVAC system will be a primary consideration in this part of the standard. These performance specifications may be used by cab designers and filter manufacturers to develop air purification devices that can be used in a specific HVAC

15、system for reduction of application specific air-borne contaminants as part of an OHSMS as defined in part 1. Note: In this standard the term “filter“ will be used to signify the air purifying device. 2 Normative References The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of

17、erminology and Overview ANSI/ASABE S613-2, Tractors and self-propelled machinery for agriculture Air quality systems for cabs Part 2: Cab P1 and P2 4.7 Verify the test mixture concentration entering the system, see 1.4. 4.8 Verify the calibration of the response analyzer as specified in 1.5. 4.9 Sta

18、rt the recorder to monitor the response analyzer in the downstream location. 4.10 Continue testing until the breakthrough concentration reaches 72 7.2 mg/m3(20 2 ppm) or to 30 minutes if no breakthrough occurs. Record the time to breakthrough, time t min., or termination of the test. 4.11 Record pre

19、ssures, P1 and P2, and the mixture concentration at the end of the test. 4.12 Turn of all test items when the test is concluded and purge the test system with fresh air. Report the results for each filter tested. 5 Calculations 5.1 Rated service life 5.1.1 The service life of the air purifying devic

20、e can be estimated with a safety factor of 10. QCWTF10105= W = RtD where: T is the rated service life in hours. Time begins from first exposure and capture of a pesticide in the filtering device and continues even when the device is not directly exposed to pesticides in other operations. W is the to

21、tal weight of test agent sorbed during the qualification test, g; CFis the test agent challenge concentration, g/m3; Q is the flow rate through the air purifying device, m3/h; Rtis the test agent injection rate, 2.83 mL/min (4.5.2.6); T is the test time, in min (4.5.2.10); D is the test agent densit

22、y, 0.902 g/mL (4.5.2.6). 5.1.2 The service life of the air purifying device shall be estimated with a safety factor of 10. Tests recording less than 100 g/m3shall have T (time) calculated on a minimum value of 100 g/m3, which represents very high pesticide concentrations measured in agricultural app

23、lications. Concentrations exceeding 100 g/m3shall have T calculated on measured values. 5.1.3 The recommended service life shall not exceed T or one use season, whichever is less. 24、each of the three tests shall be recorded. 6.1 Report the breakthrough time, in minutes, to 72 7.2 mg/m3(20 2 ppm). If the breakthrough concentration is not observed, report the breakthrough time as 30 minutes. 6.2 Report the air flow rate (m3/h), temperature (C) and relative humidity (%). 6.3 Recor

25、d the pressure drop across the filter at the beginning (4.6) and end of test (4.11). 6.4 Report the manufacturers part number, lot number, and any other number or designation that will identify the device. 6.5 Report the laboratory, test date, and laboratory test reference numbers. The test shall be

26、 signed by a certified laboratory technician. 7 Filter Identification and Instructions 7.1 Filters qualified by these tests shall include the following information: a) Trademark or identified supplier; b) Meets ASABE Standard S613-3 at the protection level the filter will provide; c) Test report num

27、ber. 7.2 Suppliers of the filter shall include such other information pertinent to the use and operation of the device. Information may include installation instructions, rated service life recommendations, and leak check procedures. Exclusion of the air purifying device to handle fumigants shall be

28、 noted in the information provided. 7.3 A log for the user to record information should be provided with each air purifying device Information to be recorded or provided shall include: a) Date of installation; b) A check list of seals and surfaces to inspect during installation (cab and filter); c)

29、Equipment hour meter reading when installed. Filter life is measured for the total time the filter is installed in a cab from the first hour meter reading until removed; d) Special operating procedures which will ensure cab pressurization at all times when pesticides are present.
