Scope1.1 This specification covers polymer concrete pipe, 6 in.(150 mm) through 144 in. (3 660 mm), intended for use ingra

3、vity-flow systems for conveying sanitary sewage, stormwater, and industrial wastes.1.2 Although this specification is suited primarily for pipe tobe installed by direct burial and pipe jacking, it may be used tothe extent applicable for other installations such as slipliningand rehabilitation of exi

Terminology3.1 DefinitionsUnless otherwise indicated, definitions arein accordance with Terminologies C125, D883, and F412, andabbreviations are in accordance with Terminology D1600.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 aggregate, na granular material, such as sand,gravel

12、, or crushed stone, in accordance with to the require-ments of Specification C33 except that the requirements forgradation shall not apply.3.2.2 pipe jacking, na system of directly installing pipesbehind a shield machine by hydraulic jacking from a driveshaft, such that the pipes form a continuous s

17、not routine qualitycontrol tests.4. Classification4.1 Polymer concrete pipe furnished under this specificationis manufactured in strength classes I, II, III, IV, or V as givenin Table 1. (See also Note 5.)NOTE 3The D-Load is the three-edge bearing strength per unit lengthdivided by the inside diamet

18、er.NOTE 4Other strength categories shall be permitted by agreementbetween the purchaser and the manufacturer.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Wall CompositionThe wall composition shall consistof a thermosetting resin and aggregate.5.1.1 Thermosetting ResinThe resin shall have a mini-mum deflection te

19、mperature of 158F (70C) when tested at264 psi (1.820 mPa) following Test Method D648. The resincontent shall not be less than 7 % of the weight of the sampleas determined by Test Method D2584.5.1.2 AggregateAggregate, and mineral fillers tested inaccordance with all requirements of Test Methods C117

20、 andC136, except requirements for gradation shall not apply.5.2 JointsThe pipe shall have a gasket sealed joiningsystem that shall prevent leakage of fluid in the intendedservice condition.5.2.1 CouplingsStainless Steel 316 , in accordance with,Specification A276, or a glass-fiber- reinforced-thermo

21、setting-resin coupling which uses an elastomeric seal. Alternatematerials may be permitted by agreement between the pur-chaser and the manufacturer. Figs. 1 and 2 show typicalcouplings.5.2.2 GasketsElastomeric gaskets used with this pipeshall conform to the requirements of Specification F477,except

22、that composition of the elastomer shall be as agreedupon between the purchaser and the supplier as being resistantto the intended chemical environments.6. Requirements6.1 WorkmanshipEach pipe shall be free from all defects,including indentations, cracks, foreign inclusions, and resin-starved areas t

23、hat, due to their nature, degree, or extent,detrimentally affect the strength and serviceability of the pipe.The pipe shall be as uniform as commercially practicable incolor, opacity, density, and other physical properties.6.1.1 The inside surface of each pipe shall be free of bulges,dents, ridges,

24、and other defects that result in a variation ofinside diameter of more than18 in. (3.2 mm) from that obtainedon adjacent unaffected portions of the surface.6.1.2 Joint sealing surfaces shall be free of dents, gouges,and other surface irregularities that will affect the integrity ofthe joints.6.2 Dim

25、ensions:6.2.1 Pipe DiameterThe pipe shall be supplied in thenominal diameters shown in Table 2 when measured inaccordance with 8.1.1.6.2.2 LengthsPipe shall be supplied in nominal lengths of3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 ft. (0.92, 1.22, 1.52, 1.83, 2.44, and 3.05m) unless otherwise agreed to between purchas

26、er and seller.Tolerance on length shall be 62 in. (650 mm). The pipe shallbe measured in accordance with 8.1.2.6.2.3 Wall ThicknessThe average wall thickness of thepipe shall not be less than the nominal wall thickness publishedin the manufacturers literature current at the time of purchase,when mea

27、sured in accordance with 8.1.3.6.2.4 Straightness of Pipe:6.2.4.1 Direct Bury PipePipes shall not deviate fromstraight by more than 0.10 in/ft (8.3mm/m) for nominaldiameters through 39 inch, 0.12 in/ft (10mm/m) for nominaldiameters 42 in. through 78 in. and 0.14 in/ft (11.7mm/m) fornominal diameters

29、1)26.2.4.2 Jacking PipePipes shall not deviate from straightby more than 0.04 in./ft (3.3 mm/m) for nominal diametersthrough 39 inch, 0.06 in/ft (5.0mm/m) for nominal diameters42 in. through 78 in., and 0.08 in/ft (6.7mm/m) for nominaldiameters 84 in. through 144 in. when measured in accordancewith

30、8.1.4.6.2.5 Roundness of PipeThe outside diameter shall notvary from a true circle by more than 1.0 % when measured inaccordance with 8.1.5.6.2.6 Squareness of Pipe Ends:6.2.6.1 Direct Bury PipeThe ends of the pipe shall beperpendicular to the longitudinal axis within 6 0.25 in (6 6.4mm) or 6 0.5 %

31、of the nominal diameter, whichever is thegreater, when tested when tested in accordance with 8.1.66.2.6.2 Jacking Pipe The ends of the pipe shall beperpendicular to the longitudinal axis within 0.06 in (1.5mm)for nominal diameters through 39 inch, 0.12 inch (3mm) fornominal diameters 42 inch through

32、 102 inch and 0.20 inch(5mm) for diameters 108 inch through 144 inch, when tested inaccordance with 8.1.6.6.3 Three-Edge BearingThe pipe shall withstand, withoutfailure, the three-edge bearing loads specified in Table 1 whentested in accordance with 8.2.6.4 Hydrostatic PressureThe pipe shall withsta

33、nd an in-ternal pressure of 35 psi (0.25 mPa) when tested in accordancewith 8.3.6.5 Compressive StrengthThe minimum axial compres-sive strength shall be 10 000 psi (68.9 mPa) when tested inaccordance with 8.4.6.6 Chemical Resistance:6.6.1 Long TermWhen tested in accordance with 8.5, theextrapolated

34、50 year strength value shall be at least 50 % of theinitial three-edge bearing strength of the test pipes.6.6.2 Control RequirementsWhen tested in accordancewith 8.5, pipe specimens shall be capable of sustaining withoutfailure for 1 000 h a load equal to 60 % of the initial three-edgebearing streng

35、th of the test pipes.6.7 Joint Tightness:6.7.1 Direct Bury PipeThe joint shall meet the laboratoryperformance requirements of Specification D4161, except thatthe internal pressure shall be 35 psi (0.25 mPa) and theminimum test time shall be 15 min.6.7.2 Jacking PipeThe joint shall meet the laborator

36、yperformance requirements of Specification D4161, except thatthe internal pressure shall be 35 psi (0.25 mPa), the minimumtest time shall be 15 min, and the joint angle as illustrated inFig. 2 of D4161 shall not apply. The joint test angle shall be themaximum allowed deflection angle as designed and

37、 specifiedby the manufacturer, but shall not be less than 0.50 degrees.7. Sampling7.1 LotUnless otherwise agreed upon between the pur-chaser and supplier, one lot shall consist of a manufacturingrun of no more than 100, but at least 20, lengths of pipe of eachdiameter and strength class produced.7.2

38、 Production TestsSelect one pipe at random from eachlot to determine conformance of the material to theworkmanship, dimensional, and physical requirements of 6.1,6.2, 6.3 and 6.5, respectively.7.2.1 Pipe AcceptanceIf the tested specimen of a desig-nated lot passes the test, the entire lot shall be a

39、cceptable. If thetested specimen of a designated lot fails to pass the test, thenfive additional specimens from that same lot shall be selectedfor testing. If the five additional specimens pass, the lot shall beacceptable. except the one previous failing specimen. If any ofthe five additional specim

40、ens fail, the entire lot shall berejected.7.3 Qualification TestsSampling for qualification tests(see 3.2.5) is not required unless otherwise agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the manufacturer. Qualification testsshall be conducted for changes in polymer aggregate andmanufacturing process and for

41、 changes in pipe joint or gasketgeometry. Qualification tests for which a certification and testreport shall be furnished when requested by the purchaserinclude the following:7.3.1 Hydrostatic Pressure Test(see 6.4).7.3.2 Chemical Resistance Test(see 6.6).7.3.3 Joint-Tightness Test(see 6.7).7.4 Cont

(152 mm) from the end ofthe pipe section using a steel tape or an inside micrometer withgraduations of116 in. (1 mm) or l

Make two 90 opposingmeasurements at each point of measurement and average thereadings.8.1.1.2 Outside DiameterDetermine in accordance withPractice D3567.8.1.2 LengthMeasure the pipe with a steel tape or gagehaving gradations of116 in. (1 mm) or less. Lay the tape orgage on or inside the pipe an

49、d measure the overall length of thepipe.8.1.3 Wall-ThicknessDetermine in accordance with Prac-tice D3567.8.1.4 Straightness of PipePlace a straight edge along theentire length of the pipe barrel. Measure the maximum devia-tion from straightness. Take four measurements at 90 intervalsaround the pipe and report the maximum deviation.8.1.5 Roundness of PipeMeasure the maximum and mini-mum outside diameters at one location on the joint sealingsurface of the pipe.
