Classification3.1 The doors shall be

9、classified into groups as given inTable 1, according to their application; in addition, the length“L” shall be in accordance with the ABS Rules for Buildingand Classing Steel Vessels.3.2 The doors shall be of two types. Type I doors shallconform to all dimensions, scantlings, and details of thisspec

10、ification. Type II doors shall be to special openingsconforming to the test methods of this specification andscantlings indicated in Figs. 1-4. Special built doors with morethan 9 psi (62 kPa) shall be indicated in the ordering informa-tion (see Supplementary Requirements).3.2.1 Tolerances of all do

11、ors shall be 618 in. (3 mm).3.3 Where structural fire protection requirements areapplicable, the doors shall meet the same requirements asrequired for the bulkheads in which fitted.4. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The materials and specifications shall be as shown inTable 5.5.2 Glass-reinfo

17、rced plastic (GRP) material of doors andframes shall meet the requirements of MIL-P-17549, Grade 1.In addition, laminate must have the flammability limits equal tothe requirements for Grade 2, Class A, of MIL-R-21607.5.2.1 All GRP material that is drilled, cut, and sanded,leaving the surface exposed

18、, shall be sealed with the same resinas the exposed material.6. Construction, Shape, and Dimensions6.1 The construction, shape, and clear opening dimensionsshall be as shown in Table 2, Table 3, Table 4, and Fig. 1, Fig.2, and shall also conform to the following:6.1.1 A right-hand opening door shall

(203mm).6.1.3 Dogs shall be located on the door panels unlessotherwise

To hold dogs in open position, steelwedges or equivalent shall be welded to the panels.6.1.4 Doors shall be fitted with dogs, hinges, grab handles,label plates, and hook assemblies; for details, see SpecificationF1073.6.1.5 Doors shall be fitted with hasp and staple assemblies ifso specif

24、ied by the purchaser in the ordering information.6.1.6 The material for the standard door components shallbe as shown in Table 5.6.1.7 Welding shall be done in accordance with the Rules ofthe American Bureau of Shipping (indicated in Section 30).7. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance7.1 All sharp an

25、d ragged edges shall be ground flush andremoved for personnel protection.7.2 Pretreatment and priming of door components shall beas follows:7.2.1 Steel door and components shall be coated withinorganic zinc-rich primer SSPC Paint 20 Type I-C at 1.5 to 3.0mil (MDFT) both sides, before assembly, follo

26、wing surfacepreparation in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.7.2.2 Aluminum door and components are to be pretreatedwith wash primer coating followed with lead-free, chromate-free, anticorrosion prime coating. Pretreatment and primer areto be applied before assembly, following surface p

27、reparation,in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.7.2.3 GRP door and components are to have color tint “hazegray” painted upon completion of the molding process.8. Test Methods8.1 Design all steel watertight doors with their respectivefittings to an internal pressure of 9 psi (62 kPa). Wa

28、tertightaluminum and GRP doors shall be 5 psi (34 kPa). Designgastight/airtight doors to an internal pressure of 2 psi (14 kPa).8.2 Before delivery, certify the doors applicable towatertight, airtight, or weathertight integrity.9. Product Marking9.1 Each door shall be marked with the purchase ordern

29、umber by attaching a CRES label plate to the door panel usingletters at least12 in. (12.7 mm) high, indicating the ASTMdesignation number, class, nominal number, thickness of doorplate, and direction of opening. Other markings may be inpaint.9.2 Label plates shall be screwed or bolted to the door pa

30、nelon steel and aluminum doors, but in no way adversely affectthe watertightness.9.3 GRP door label plates shall be affixed to the door, withepoxy.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 Doors shall be crated or attached to a pallet in a manneracceptable for shipment by a common carrier. The door andd

31、oor frame assembly shall be shipped as one unit with gasketprotected from knife edge by an inserted partition.11. 39、en indicated, shall allow 1 doorout of 50 doors to be tested for 1.5 times the test requirementsperformed by the manufacturer.S6. Door FramesS6.1 Door frames when specified, may be 3- by 2-in.
