3、quirements for multilayerpipe type 2 and compression fittings for hot and cold drinking-water systems, with a maximum pressure rating of 1000 kPa(145 psi) at 82C (180F).NOTE 1Multilayer Pipe Type 2Construction-based pressure ratedpipe comprising more than one layer in which at least 60 % of the wall

4、thickness is polymeric material.1.2 Multilayer pipe type 2 is produced using a butt-weldedaluminum pipe as a core, with an extruded inside layer ofcrosslinked polyethylene (PEX). An adhesive layer is used tobond the inside layer to the wall of the aluminum pipe. Anouter layer of polyethylene (PE) an

5、d an adhesive layer areextruded to the outer wall of the aluminum pipe.1.3 Multilayer pipe type 2 is produced in configurations 1and 2, as referenced in Fig. 1.1.4 This specification includes compression fittings, whichare referenced in Fig. 2.1.5 Specifications for thread or solder adapters for use

6、 withpipe and fittings meeting the requirements of this specificationare given in Annex A1 and Annex A2.1.6 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portion of this specification: This standard doesnot purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any,associated with it

Classification4.1 Multilayer pipe and compression fittings produced un-der this specification shall be suitable for hot and

Materials and Manufacture5.1 Specification for Material and Manufacture of Multi-layer Pipe Configuration 1 and 2:5.1.1 Polyethylene (PE)PE shall meet the requirementprovided in Specification D3350 and shall equal or exceed aminimu

The PEX raw material shall equal orexceed a minimum cell classification 344543 A in accordancewith the Specification D3350. The form of the material shall bein accordance with the agreement betwee

27、n purchaser andsupplier.5.1.3 Adhesive PolymersAdhesive polymers shall bemodified low-molecular-weight PE with a minimum density of0.915 g/cm3and different levels of comonomer for adhesion toaluminum and other substrates. The melting point shall not beless than 120C (248F). Density is determined und

28、er TestMethod D1505 and melting point under Test Method D3418.5.1.4 Aluminum Pipe: Mechanical PropertiesMinimumtensile strength shall be 80 Mpa (11600 psi), minimumelongation shall be 22 % A5, in accordance with SpecificationB547/B547M.5.1.5 Reusable MaterialReusable material as defined inGuide D503

29、3 issued from the multilayer-pipe manufacturershall be used only for the outside coating of the multilayerpipe.5.2 Specification for Material and Manufacture of Compres-sion Fittings for Multilayer Pipe:5.2.1 Compression fittings made from cast bronze shallmeet the requirements of Specification B584

30、 UNS CopperAlloy No. C83600.5.2.2 Compression fittings made from brass shall meet therequirements of Specification B455, UNS Copper Alloy No.C38500, or Specification B283, UNS Copper Alloy No.C37700.5.2.3 Compression fittings made from plastic shall be injec-tion molded from virgin material and meet

31、 the requirements ofSpecification D3222, Type II.5.3 Material Specification for O-RingsThe O-ring mate-rial shall be EPDM, with a hardness of 70 IRHD, in accordancewith Specification F477. O-ring dimensions shall be in accor-dance with AS 568 A.6. Requirements6.1 Multilayer Pipe Dimensions :6.1.1 Ou

32、tside DiameterThe outside diameter shall meetthe requirement of Table 1 when measured in accordance withTest Method D2122.6.1.2 Wall ThicknessThe wall thickness of multilayer pipeshall meet the requirement of Table 1 when measured inaccordance with Test Method D2122. The wall thickness andthe outsid

33、e diameter of the aluminum pipe shall be determinedprior to the next manufacturing steps.6.1.3 Average Thickness of Inner and Outer LayersTheaverage thickness of the inner and outer layers of the multilayerpipe will be calculated as follows:6.1.3.1 Average Thickness of the Outer LayerThe averageouts

35、layer.6.1.4 LengthThe pipe shall be supplied in coils or instraight lengths in accordance with the agreement betweenpurchaser and seller.
