4、nd other fusion welding processes. It also includes wire and rods for use in gas tungsten arc welding and plasma arc welding. Classification is based on chemical composition of the filler metal. A guide is appended to the specification as a source of information concerning the classification system

5、employed and the intended use of the stainless steel filler metal.This specification does not include any units other than weight percent. The specifications Annex A makes use of both U.S. Customary Units and the International System of Units (SI). Since these are not equivalent, each system must be

Classification4.1 General A wire electrode, strip electrode, wire, or rod shall be classified according to

30、 its chemical composition as given in Table 1.The classification is divided into two parts:(a) the first gives a symbol indicating the product/process to be identified;(b) the second gives a symbol indicating the chemical composition of the wire electrode, strip electrode, wire, or rod.See Clause 14

31、 for examples of AWS Classifications/Designations.4.2 Materials may be classified under more than one classification provided they meet all the requirements of those classifications as specified in Table 1. When assigning classification/designation to a product, subclass 4.3A with classification acc
