IntroductionThe American Welding Society (AWS) Board of Direc-tors has adopted a policy whereby all official interpreta-tions of AWS standards are handled in a formal manner.Under this policy, all interpretations are made by thecommittee that is responsible for the standard. Officialcommunication
47、 concerning an interpretation is directedthrough the AWS staff member who works with thatcommittee. The policy requires that all requests for aninterpretation be submitted in writing.
