47、 was given to the harmonization of the United State s and Canadian safety st andards addressing gas-fired equipment for residential, commercial, and industri al applications. It was believed that the elimination of the differences between the stand ards would remove pot ential trade barriers and pro

48、v ide an atmosphere in which North American manufacturer s could market more freely in the United State s and Canada. The harmonization of these s tandards was also seen as a st ep toward harmonization with inter national stand ards.A draft harmonized st andard for connector s for moveable gas appli

49、ances was prepared for review by the Z21/CGA Joint Connector Subcommitt ee. The draft harmonized st andard for connector s for gas appliances is based on the American National Standard for Connector s for Gas Appliances (Z21.24-1993 and Z21.24a-1993), the s tandard American National Standard for Flexible Connector s of Other than All- Metal Construction for Gas Appliances (Z21.45-1992, Z21.45a-1993 and Z21.45b-1993), and the National Standard of Canada for Connector s for Gas-Appliances (CAN/CGA-6.10-M88).
