It supersedes the previous editi
13、ons, published in 2006, 1997, and 1989 under the title Plastic Toilet (Water Closet) Seats. This Standard was developed by the IAPMO Z124 Technical Subcommittee and approved by the IAPMO Plumbing Standards Committee in accordance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Essential Requir
14、ements: Due process requirements for American National Standards and the IAPMO Policies and Procedures for Consensus Development of American National Standards. This Standard was approved as an American National Standard on March 15, 2013. Notes: (1) The use of the singular does not exclude the plur
15、al (and vice versa) when the sense allows. (2) This standard was developed in accordance with the IAPMO procedures accredited as meeting the criteria for American National Standards and it is an American National Standard. 38、ons shall apply in this Standard: Bumper an extension of the seat or cover that acts as a spacer and a cushion. Note: Bumpers can be of separate construction or integrally molded. Defect Blister (Void) an unsupported surface that fractures upon the application of a manual pressure of 44.5 N (10 lbf)
39、 with a 13 mm (0.5 in) diameter nylon rod. Surface porosity voids in the surface not extending through to the substrate. Edge the lowermost surface of the toilet seat or cover side, front or rear profile. List (Layback) the position of the toilet seat at the point of rotation stoppage beyond the ver
40、tical balance position. Note: Sufficient layback ensures that the seat (or seat and cover) will remain in the open position when raised. Parting line a line on the toilet seat resulting from the molding process. Note: Parting lines are a visual indication of the separation of the top and bottom halv
41、es of the manufacturing equipment. Softclosing toilet seat a toilet seat designed to close gradually. Note: Softclosing toilet seats can be with or without covers. Toiletbowl rim profile Elongated a toiletbowl rim that measures 470 mm (18.5 in) from the mounting holes to the front edge. Round a toil
42、etbowl rim that measures 419 mm (16.5 in) from the mounting holes to the front edge. Toilet seat the component on which a person sits while using the toilet. 44、with the requirements of this Standard. 4.1.2 Reground and Reprocessed Materials Reground and reprocessed materials may be used, provided the finished toilet seats meet the requirements of this Standard. 4.2 Finished Surfaces Finished surfaces shall comply with the applicable requirements of this St
45、andard. 4.3 Dimensions Except for proprietary (i.e., nonstandard) toilet seats provided by the toilet manufacturer, the minimum dimensions for plastic toilet seats shall be as specified in Figure 1. Note: The toilet seat length is the distance from the mounting bolt centers to the front edge of the
46、seat. 4.4 Hinges 4.4.1 Check (CK) Hinges Check hinges shall have a means to stop the rotation of the toilet seat at a predetermined angle beyond the vertical. 4.4.2 SelfSustaining (SS) Hinges Selfsustaining hinges shall provide resistance to the rotation of the toilet seat so that the seat can remai
47、n in the desired position of rotation. 4.4.3 SelfSustaining Check (SC) Hinges Selfsustaining check hinges shall have the characteristics of the check and the selfsustaining hinges. 4.4.4 SelfRaising (SR) Hinges Selfraising hinges shall automatically raise the toilet seat to an upright position when
48、not in use. 4.4.5 Adjustable Hinges Adjustable hinges shall allow adjustments for installation on toilets with nonstandard seat mounting hole locations. 4.5 Bumper Height The bumper height shall be at least 1.6 mm (0.06 in). 49、nd Finish Tests and Performance Criteria 5.1 Test Specimens and Test Conditions 5.1.1 Test Specimens Test specimens shall be installed simulating typical fieldinstallation conditions and the tests shall be conducted on surfaces that are visible after installation. 5.1.2 Test Conditions The tests shall be conducted at an ambient temperature of 22 3 C (72 5F) and at 50% relative humidity. 5.2 Surface Examination Test 5.2.1 Test Procedure The surface examination test shall be conducted as specified in Clause 5.
