This standard presents the general, physical, and magnetic requirements for interchangeability of the magnetic six-disk pack as required to achieve unrecorded pack interchange between disk storage drives and associated informatio

13、n processing systems. Subsequent standards may specify other disk packs with different storage and performance capabilities, and define more fully the parameters relevant to support data interchange on such media. Subcommittee X3B7, which developed this standard, consists of a group of experienced a

14、nd qualified specialists on the disk pack and the associated disk storage drives. In the development of this standard careful consideration was given to current practices, existing equipment, and applicable standards being developed internationally. This standard was approved as an American National

15、 Standard by the American National Stan- dards Institute on May 14, 1974. Suggestions for improvement of this standard will be welcome.
