31、ts. 2 Purpose The purpose of this document is to aid users in their piping design by providing installed face-to-face dimensions for control valves, incorporating clamp or pinch elements, which have flanges that mate with ANSI B16.1 Class 125 and/or ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges, without giving speci

32、al consideration to the manufacturer of the equipment to be used. This document applies to handwheel-operated pinch valves Classes 125 and 150 and excludes solenoid-actuated valves and direct fluid-actuated valves. 3 Definitions For definitions of terms used in this document, see ANSI/ISA-75.05.01,

33、Control Valve Terminology. 3.1 one-piece element clamp or pinch valve: a one-piece element clamp or pinch valve is a valve consisting of a one-piece flexible element or liner installed in a body with the element or liner extending over the flange faces and acting as a gasket between the valve and co

34、nnecting piping. Valves may be specified in either of two common face-to-face patterns shown in Table 1. See Table 1 for dimensions. Column 1 dimensions are derived from ANSI standards. “Long style“ dimensions are the same as those for flanged-end globe style control valves in ANSI B16.10 and ANSI/I

35、SA-75.08.01 except for the 6-inch size. “Short style“ dimensions are the same as those for flanged-end gate valves in ANSI B16.10 and MSS SP-72. The 6-inch ASME dimension is 10.5 inches, which is ASME Short, and the 8-inch dimension is 18 inches which is ASME Long. ASME B16.10 short excludes 8-inch

36、only and not both 6-inch and 8-inch. Column 2 face-to-face dimensions are based on a design convention that sets the installed length approximately equal to 2.5 times the nominal valve size in mm for DN65 and larger. Dimensions for DN40 and smaller are the same as for DN65. 3.2 two-piece element cla

37、mp or pinch valve: a two-piece element clamp or pinch valve is a valve consisting of two flexible elastomeric elements or liners installed between a two-piece flanged body. The flexible elements or liners also extend over the flange faces and act as gaskets between the valve and the connecting pipin

38、g. 3.3 face-to-face: each of the face-to-face dimensions in the table is to be applied to the installed length of the valve after installation into a piping system. The free length face-to-face dimension of a valve before installation into a piping system may be slightly longer than dimensions shown
