7、 requirements for film clips and hangers used to hold photographic films and dental radiographic films during processing.2 Normative referenceThe following standard contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this American National Standard. 9、 maintain registers of currently valid International Standards.ISO 732:2000, Photography - 120-size and 220-size films - Dimensions3 Term and definitionFor the purpose of this standard, the following term and definition applies.3.1 bite: Distance from the edge of the film to the point at which the t

10、eeth of the clip or hanger engage it; also, the distance between the film edge and the maximum projection beyond the teeth of any part of the clip or hanger that can touch the film.ANSI/I3A IT4.23-2001Page 2 of 2 pages4 Requirements4.1 Clips1)and hangers1) used to hold photographic films and dental

11、radiographic films during processing should fasten securely in order to retain the film safely during the necessary manipulations. 4.2 The bite of the film clips and hangers should not enter the picture area.4.3 In accordance with ISO 732, a minimum space of 15 mm at each end of the film strip shall

12、 be reserved for the use of clips and hangers in processing amateur roll films.Since the free margin on sheet films and pack films is considerably less than 15 mm, use of film clips is not recom-mended.Since films for dental radiography have no clear margins, only film clips and hangers having the l

13、east possible bite should be used in order to protect the diagnostic field from any harm that may be caused by the clip or hanger.4.4 Based on considerations given in 4.3, the recognized maximum bite dimension in millimeters is as follows:Maximum Bite of Film Clip or Hanger (mm)Roll film processing
