All wire in the cable shall be the same

23、VC insulated wire is not to be used for aerospace applications. 2.2.2 Conductor Size The conductor size is identified by the AWG size. All conductors in the cable shall be of the same size. 24、 The conductor material shall be identified by a letter symbol as specified in Table 2-2. All wire in the cable shall be the same material and stranding. 32、90 .0100 .870 2.2.4 Color Code and Number of Conductors The color code of each individual wire is identified by a number built up from the digits designating the colors as specified in MIL-STD-681. For single shielded and single shielded and jacketed constructions, a dash should not be used. Any ord

33、er of color code designators is acceptable. The color code designations for wires 2 5 will be separated by a dash. Two groups of numbers indicate a twisted pair, three groups a twisted triple, four groups a quad, and five groups a quintuple. 2.2.5 Shield Material The shield material is identified by

34、 a letter symbol as specified in table 2-3. When double shields are specified, the two shields shall be placed in direct contact. No jacket or binder is required between the shields. 35、table 2-4. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), jacket colors shall be as specified under the jacket materials in accordance with Table 2-4. 37、 This standard covers a wide variety of possible primary wires, shields, and jacket combinations. It is strongly recommended that consultation between users and cable manufacturers be made in order to assure the most suitable cable. Materials shall be as specified herein. When a material is not spec

41、rical Manufacturers Association All basic wires used in the construction of a cable shall be of the same type and size (see 2.2.1 & 2.2.2). All basic wires shall be tested to verify that they conform to the applicable NEMA HP specification. Helical stripes for the purpose of wire identification shal

42、l not degrade the insulation as evidenced by failure to meet the requirements herein. Unless otherwise specified the manufacturer of the cable is responsible for assuring that the basic wire meets the wire specification requirements prior to fabricating them into a cable. 3.3 Cabling The basic wires

43、 shall be grouped together and cabled with a planetary machine so that the individual wire is not twisted and a minimum overall diameter is obtained. 3.3.1 Direction of lay The direction of lay may be left hand or right hand. 3.3.2 Length of lay The length of lay shall be not less than 8 nor more th

44、an 16 times the outside major axis diameter of the unshielded unjacketed cable bundle. The basic wire shall not be spliced. 3.4 Fillers and binder tapes When used fillers and tapes shall be of a fungus resistant material and have a minimum temperature equivalent to the cable rating without fillers a

45、nd tapes. They shall also be easily removable from the finished cable without adherence to the underlying insulation. 3.5 Shield When the cable designation specifies that a shield is to be incorporated into the cable construction, a closely woven braid shall be applied over the basic wire or cable.

46、The shield strands shall be free from lumps, kinks, abrasions, scraped or corroded surfaces, and surface impurities. The strand coating shall be smooth, continuous, and adherent to the underlying material. Before shielding, the copper strands used in the shields shall be annealed or soft-drawn coppe

47、r wire from commercially pure copper and shall conform to ASTM B3. Before application to the cable, individual tin, silver, or nickel coated copper strands shall have a minimum elongation of 6 percent. 3.5.1 Silver-coated Copper Strands When the cable designation specifies a silver-coated shield, th

48、e individual strands shall be coated uniformly with a smooth continuous layer of commercially pure silver. Prior to braiding, silver-coated copper strands shall meet the requirements of ASTM B298. The minimum thickness of the silver shall not be less than 40 in. 3.5.2 Nickel-Coated Copper Strands Wh

49、en the cable designation specifies a nickel-coated shield, the individual strands shall be coated uniformly with a smooth continuous layer of commercially pure nickel. Prior to braiding, nickel-coated copper strands shall meet the requirements of ASTM B355. The thickness of the nickel coating shall be not less than 50 in.
