These criteria were established for the protection of pu

17、blic health and the environment. The physical and performance requirements in this standard apply to in line-valves for use in radiant heating system and hot and cold water cross linked polyethylene (PEX) distribution systems which are compliant with the requirements identified in ASTM F877 for PEX

18、tubing systems. Valves meeting these requirements are rated for a minimum 100 psi at 180 F. This standard is supplemental to ASTM F877 and is intended to identify additional requirements specific for valves. The components covered by this standard are intended for use in residential and commercial,

19、hot and cold, potable water distribution systems as well as sealed central heating, including under-floor heating systems. This Standard was developed by the task group within the NSF Joint Committee on Plastics using the consensus process described in NSF Standards Development Policies and accredit

20、ed by ANSI. Suggestions for improvement of this Standard are welcome. 23、d with cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) systems. Establishment of these criteria provide for the protection of public health and the environment. 1.2 Scope This Standard applies to in line-valves for use in radiant heating systems, and hot and cold water cross linked polyethylene (PEX) distribution s

24、ystems which are compliant with the requirements identified in ASTM F877 for PEX tubing systems. Valves meeting these requirements are rated for a minimum 100 psi (0.69 MPa) at 180 F (82 C). This Standard is supplemental to ASTM F877 and identifies additional requirements specific for valves. This S

39、 flow. 3.5 potable water: Water that is acceptable for drinking, culinary, and domestic purposes and meets the requirements of the health authority having jurisdiction. 3.6 valve: A device used to regulate the flow of liquids or gasses. 3.7 virgin material: A material in the form of pellets, granule

40、s, powder, floc, or liquid that has not been subjected to use or processing other than that required for its initial manufacture. 4 Material requirements 4.1 Materials identified below and that meet the minimum requirements are acceptable for use in producing valves which comply with the minimum req

41、uirements of this standard. 4.2 Materials used to manufacture valves shall meet the requirements of ASTM F877. 4.3 Valves bodies made from copper alloys containing more than 15% zinc by weight and intended for use in potable water systems shall meet the Dezincification and Stress Corrosion Cracking

42、Resistance requirements of NSF/ANSI 14. 4.4 Plastic (non-metal) materials for valves Materials for the valve body shall be produced from virgin plastics or clean rework materials. The use of clean, rework material of the same formulation and physical properties from the same manufacturer is acceptab

43、le provided the finished products meet the requirements of this standard. Materials in the production of valves shall be manufactured in such a way as to prevent contamination. 5 Requirements 5.1 Pressure rating Valves shall have a hydrostatic pressure rating of 100 psi (0.69 MPa) at 180F (82 C). 5.
