SCOPE 1.1 GENERAL This Standard is applicable to the interconnection of data terminating equipment (D

28、TE) and data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE) employing serial binary data interchange where a minimal number of control and information circuits are required. It defines: Section i - Scope Section 2 - Interface Mechanical Characteristics Section 3 - Functional Description of the Interchange Circ

29、uits The electrical characteristics applicable to this interface can be found in AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARD ANSI/EIA/TIA-562. 1.2 CONNECTION When used in conjunction with the above mentioned electrical characteristics standard, this Standard applies where equipment on one side of the DTE/DCE interfa

30、ce is intended for connection directly to the other side without additional technical considerations. 1.3 BIT SEQUENCES This Standard applies to data communication systems where data is bit serialieed by the DTE and the DCE and places no restrictions on the arrangement or the sequence of bits. 1.4 D

31、ATA SIGNALING RATES This Standard is applicable for use at data signaling rates at or below 38.4 kbitfs. Equipments complying with this Standard, however, need not operate over this entire signaling range. They may be designed to operate over a more narrow range as appropriate for the specific appli

32、cation. 1.5 NON-SYNCHRONOUS COMMUNICATION This Standard applies to non-synchronous serial binary data communication systems. 1.6 CLASSES OF SERVICE This Standard applies to duplex switched, non-switched, dedicated, leased or private line service, either two-wire or four-wire. MTEBXACE MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS a.1 POINT OF INTERFACE The interface between the DTE and the DOE is located at a pluggable c

34、onnector signal interface point between the two equipments (see Figure 2.1). An hin-*0a Pig in these cases the ON condition on Circuit 125 may be in response to these predefmed ringing signals. The operation of this circuit shall not be disabled by an OFF condition on Circuit 108/2 (DTE Ready). The

35、DTE may decline to answer a call by not placing an ON condition on Circuit 108/2 in response to 125 cycling. 36、4b00 ObL9bO1 837 m EIA/TIA-561 Page 12 Circuit ISS-Ready for Receiving Direction: To the DCE This circuit is used to control the transfer of data on Circuit 104 (Received Data) when an intermediate function such as error control is being used in the DCE. The ON condition on Circuit 133 indicates tha

37、t the DTE is capable of receiving data. The OFF condition indicates that the DTE is not capable of receiving data and causes the DCE, or the intermediate function, to retain the data. In some DCEs the OFF condition on Circuit 133 niay also cause a signal to be transmitted to the distant DCE causing

38、an OFF condition to be placed on Circuit 106 (Clear to Send) extending the flow control to the distant DTE. .
