23、ee of privacy for the subscriber over the Base Station to Mobile Station radio link (air or Uminterface). VP applies only to digital modes of operation. VP applies only to the radio link to the served subscriber, not to the call end-to-end. This feature shall be a mandatory capability of all mobile

24、stations capable of operating in digital voice mode. VP has no impact upon a subscribers ability to originate calls or to receive calls. The mobile station shall indicate to the

28、subscriber the current status of VP during a call, as well as a change of status between the two states. A visual indicator (e.g., lamp, display) shall indicate the current state of VP. A mobile station audible annunciator shall indicate a change in the state of VP. This annunciator should be easily

29、 distinguishable from other annunciators and tones. Normal Operation with Successful Outcome When VP is invoked, the speech or traffic channel used is encrypted.
