23、ervice allows digital wireless subscribers to send and receive faxes. G3 Fax provides functionality similar to a wireline fax device in that the data is modified to make it suitable for transporting over an appropriate medium. Both wireless and wireline media are accommodated to support interworking
24、 between the two networks in a way that is transparent to the terminal equipment. The subscribers terminal equipment interfaces to a conventional DCE data port. The far-end DCE interworks at each end function as if connected to a compatible device. G3 Fax procedures and interfaces are specified by a
25、ppropriate air interface standards and specifications (e.g., CDMA). These specify compliance with other common data standards (e.g., TIA-592) and ITU recommendations (e.g., T.30, and V.42). Mobile originated service may be of two types: G3 Fax Only and Voice Then G3 Fax. Mobile terminated service ma
26、y be of three types: One Number per Service, Two-Stage Dialing, or Voice then G3 Fax. Applicability to Telecommunications Services G3 Fax is applicable to data telecommunication services. G3 Fax is applicable to voice services in those cases where voice is used prior to a manual change from voice se
27、rvice to G3 Fax. 1.1 Normal Procedures with Successful Outcome Authorization G3 Fax may be provided after prearrangement with the service provider, or may be made generally available by the service provider. Deauthorization If G3 Fax is provided after prearrangement with the service provider, the se
28、rvice shall be deauthorized at the subscribers request or for administrative reasons. Registration G3 Fax has no registration. Deregistration G3 Fax has no deregistration. Deactivation G3 Fax shall be deactivated upon deauthorization or issuance of the proper AT command. If adaptive ans
30、wering (See EIA/TIA-592) is active, G3 Fax may be deactivated by the network if an ADS call is received. Invocation G3 Fax is invoked by issuing the appropriate AT commands (e.g., ATD command). Mobile Origination Mobile originated service may be of two types: G3 Fax Only and Voice Then G3 Fax. G3 Fa
31、x Only A mobile subscriber originates a G3 Fax call to a terminating party (PSTN user or mobile subscriber). The terminating party has a separate telephone number for G3 Fax. Voice then G3 Fax A mobile subscriber originates a voice call to a terminating party (PSTN user or mobile subscriber). The te
32、rminating party has a single telephone number for both voice service and G3 Fax. The call is answered by the user as a voice call, and when the G3 Fax machine or G3 Fax modem is made ready, the service is changed by the user from voice service to G3 Fax. In another case, the originating mobile subsc
33、riber informs the terminating party that the in progress voice call will be disconnected, then call back with a G3 Fax call. The originating mobile subscriber then places a G3 Fax call. Mobile Termination Mobile terminated service may be one of three types: One Number per Service, Two-Stage Dialing,
34、 or Voice Then G3 Fax. One Number per Service An originating party places a G3 Fax call to the terminating mobile subscriber. The mobile station has a separate telephone number for G3 Fax calls. Two-Stage Dialing The wireless carrier has one or more Directory Numbers (DN) for G3 Fax. Because the num
35、ber is related to the service, it is shared by all subscribers. An originating party places a call to one of the G3 Fax DNs. 37、ice call to the terminating subscriber. The subscribers mobile termination has a single telephone number for both voice service and G3 Fax. The mobile subscriber answers the call using voice service and changes the service from voice to G3 Fax. In another case, the originating party informs the term
38、inating mobile subscriber that the current voice call shall be ended, then a G3 Fax call back shall occur. The terminating mobile subscriber switches the service from voice to G3 Fax prior to receiving the call. Call Detail Record The system should record call detail information for the following: a
