33、nstallation and use in hazardous (classied) locations, Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G; Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G; and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2, in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. 1.2 These requirements

34、 also cover explosion-proof electrical equipment for installation and use in Class I, Zone 1, Groups IIA, IIB and IIC hazardous (classied) locations and dust-ignition-proof equipment for use in Zone 20, 21, and 22 locations. 35、xplosion-proof electrical equipment that has been investigated for use in one or more specic gas or vapor atmospheres with or without additional Class I Groups. See 55.4. 1.4 These requirements cover electric air heaters, electric hot-water or steam radiators, and electric hot plates rated 600 volts

36、 or less. 1.5 These requirements also cover paint heaters, rated 600 volts or less, for use at pressures not exceeding 100 psig (690 kPa). Paint heaters operating at more than 100 psig may be investigated in accordance with these requirements and any additional requirements judged to be necessary. 1

37、6 These requirements do not cover medical equipment. 1.7 These requirements cover heaters for use only under the following atmospheric conditions: a) A minimum ambient temperature of minus 50C (minus 58F); b) An oxygen concentration not greater than 21 percent by volume; and c) A nominal barometric

38、 pressure of one atmosphere. 2 General 2.1 An electric heater for use in hazardous locations shall also comply with the applicable requirements for a similar product for use in ordinary locations. 2.2 An electric heater for Class III locations shall comply with requirements for Class II, Group G, ex

39、cept that an enclosure for Class III, Division 2 shall be of the type described in 45.3. 40、1 Except as indicated in 3.2, a component of a product covered by this standard shall comply with the requirements for that component. 3.2 A component is not required to comply with a specic requirement that: a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in

41、 the product covered by this standard, or b) Is superseded by a requirement in this standard. 3.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions of use. 3.4 Specic components are incomplete in construction features or are restricted in performance cap

42、abilities. Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temperatures not exceeding specied limits, and shall be used only under those specic conditions. 4 Units of Measurement 4.1 Values stated without parentheses are the requirement.
