1、A-A-5 206 7 Karch 13, 1990 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION BINDING, TEXTILE, COTTON, BIAS-CUT The General Services Administration. has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to all. types and classes of Federal Specification DDD-B-1199A. 1. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 1.1 Desig
2、n and Construction. The cloth to be cut into binding shall be a plain weave cotton having a minimum weight of.3.O ounces per square yard, and a minimum of 85 warp and 72 filling yarns per inch. The cloth shall be bleached or dyed as specified (see 4.2). The cloth selvages shall be removed and then t
3、he cloth shall be cut on an angle of 45 degrees 25 degrees. bias-cut bindings shall then be joined together with 10 to 14 type 301 stitches per inch using seam type SSa-1 of FED-STD-751. The edges of the binding shall be treated with sizing to prevent raveling. The finished width of the binding shal
4、l be 1/2 51/32 inch. 1.2 Put-up. The binding shall be rolled on tubes of the same width as the binding. The length on each roll shall be not less than 50 yards, nor more than 100 yards. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item De
7、scription, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery, and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provision of t
8、he contract. 2.2 Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 2.3 End item visual examination. examined for consumer type defects as follows: Each lot of bias-cut bin-ding shall be Any hole, cut, tear, multiple
9、 float, smash, abrasion marks; permanently embedded creases or wrinkles; any stain, spot, or streak clearly noticeable; color not as specified; selvage not removed; open seam, insecurely stitched seam or stitching; not seam type specified; stitches per inch more or less than specified; not cut as sp
10、ecified; edges not treated with sizing, The lot size shall be expressed in units of linear yards of binding, and the sample unit shall be 1 linear yard of binding. The inspection level shall be II, and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 6.5.
11、 2.4 End item dimencional examination. The finished bias-cut binding shall. be examined fer conformance to the dimensions specified in 1.1. Any dimension not within the specified tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The lot size shall be expressed in units of linear yards of binding, and the s
12、ample unit shall be one linear yard of binding. The inspection level shall be S-3, and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall 2.5. 3. PACKAGING 3.1 Packaging. Rolls of binding of like description, put-up as specified, shall be packaged in a snug-fitting, clear plastic bag co
13、nforming to A-A-1668. The quantity of rolls shall not exceed 12, and the height of the stacked roll shall not exceed 12 inches. When specified (see 4,2), each roll shall be individually packaged. 3.2 Packing. Binding of a like description, packaged as specified, shall be stacked in a snug-fitting fi
14、berboard shipping container conforming to style RSC, type CF (variety SW) or SF, class domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance Pallet pattern shall be in accordance with
