SCOPE. This CI

2、D covers double acting, rising stem, gate valves for use with liquid petroleum supply systems. 2. CLASSIFICATION. 2.1 Tvue. Valves shall be classified into three types as follows (see 7.2): Type I -3 inch, round Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) flange ends. Type II -4 inch, round TTMA

3、flange ends. Type III -6 inch, round TTMA flange ends. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Description. The valves shall be lightweight, and have a double-acting, rising stem connected to a wedge-shaped double-disk and actuated by manual handwheel. 3.2 Interface. The valves shall have bolt circle and fl

4、ange dimensions in accordance with TTMA RP No. 28 or as shown in table I to allow proper interface with other system components. The materials selected for construction are the r

7、esponsibility of the contractor. The materials shall be of sufficient durability to meet all requirements specified herein. Valves shall be constructed of corrosion resistant material suitable for fuel service. 3.4 Valve body. The valve body shall have an area of flow passage, when fully opened, not

8、 less than that of a circle having a diameter equal to the valve nominal pipe size. 3.5 Valve performance. When subjected to a hydrostatic pressure of 300 pounds per square inch gage (psig) for type I and II or 225 psig for type III for a period of not less than one minute, there shall be no leakage

9、 nor visible distortion or evidence of cracks. 3.6 End flanges. The end flanges (inlet and outlet) shall be integral with the valve body and shall meet all requirements of a TTMA flange. 3.7 Bonnet. The bonnet shall be constructed to contain the stuffing box assembly, and shall provide adequate clea

10、rance for the disks when the valve is fully opened. The bonnet shall be removable from the valve body to allow access to the stuffing box assembly for repair. A replaceable means of sealing the bonnet to valve body interface shall be provided. 3.8 Stuffing box. The stuffing box or condensation chamb

11、er shall be self-adjusting and shall consist of a packing nut, packing gland, and gland spring. All components shall be of corrosion resisting materials. 3.9 Packing. Packing shall be the contractors standard product. 3.10 Rising stem. The rising stem shall be of a corrosion resistant material and m

12、ay be of one or two piece construction with a double acting feature for fast closing. The stem shall include a retaining mechanism which prevents the stem and its components from being expelled from the valve under pressure. 3.1 1 Double disk. The disk shall be of the double disk type with a self-al

13、igning feature to assure a positive leak-proof closure. The disks shall be of a corrosion resistant material to ensure continued operation. Disks shall be loosely keyed together to facilitate removal. The disk shall not jam and internal parts shall not be damaged when a force of 2.5 foot-pounds of t

The seat ring shall be of a corrosi

15、on resistant material. The finish of the seat rings and the double disks shall be such that smooth close contact between the components shall prevent leakage but not bind or gall one another during opening and closing. 3.13 Handwheel. The handwheel shall be the contractors standard handwheel securel

16、y fastened to the rising stem. The handwheel shall have direction of rotation, for opening and closing, indicated. 3.14 Finish. Before assembly the valve components shall be anodized with a color as specified (see 7.3). The coating shall be of a thickness to allow assembly and valve operation withou

17、t interference. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practical, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conforma

18、nce. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of s

19、uch conformance. 5.2 Market acceptability. The product offered shall be of the latest model of the standard product of the supplier that have been used in the field for at least one year by commercial users. 5.3 Examinations. Each valve examined shall be inspected for compliance with the requirement

20、s specified in 3.1 through 3.14. Nonconformance to any specified requirement, or the presence of one or more defects shall constitute cause for rejection. 6. PACKAGING. 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order. (see 7.2) 7. NOTES. 7.1 Part identi

21、fication number (PIN). The following part identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. Acquisition documents must specify the following: a. Title, number, and date of this CID. b. Type of valve required (see 2.1). c. Color of finish requ

23、ired (see 3.14). d. Level of preservation and packing required (see 6.1). 7.3 Data requirements. The contracting officer should include, in the contract or order, any data requirements, such as instructional materials or technical publications to be furnished with the valves. 7.4 Provisioning. The c

24、ontracting officer should include, in the contract or order, provisioning requirements for repair parts (overpack if required) and maintenance tools (including special tools), as necessary, and instructions regarding packaging and shipment of the valves. 7.5 Sources of documents.
