In the event of a conflict between the text of this specificatin and the references cited herein (except for associated detail specifications, specification

Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMJ3NTS 3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with the applicable
10、drawings, specifications and standards. 3.2 Assembly. The assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (Dwg.) 12631047 and all associated drawings and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications and standards. at the time and place of loading the actuator shall n
11、ot exceed 0.20 percent when tested as specified in 4,4.3.1. 3.3 Moisture content ignition powder. The moisture content 3.4 Functioning tests- sensitivity and output. 3.4.1 No-fire test. The piston actuator, after being conditioned at 700 -t 1OOF for two hours minimum, shall not exhibit any signs of
12、the output requirements of 3.4.2 after being exposed to the no-fire stimulus specified in 4.5.2.1. 3.4.2 All-fire output test. The piston actuator, after being conditioned at 700 + 100F for two hours minimum, shall function on the first attempt, shall shear a .O50 inch diameter aluminum pin, travel
13、a minimum (min.) of -200 inch, and not shear the .O80 inch diameter stop pin when tested as specified in 4.5.2.2. 3.5 Environmental conditioning. 3.5.1 Resistance between electrode and cup, thermal shock,vibration and function. The piston actuator shall comply with the resistance requirement of Dwg.

The
15、 actuator shall comply with the output requirements of 3.4.2 after being submerged in water to a minimum depth of 2 inches for not less than 48 hours, at a temperature of 700 - + 1OOF when tested as specified in 4.5.3.2. 3.5.3 Cold temperature. The piston actuator assembly shall comply with the outp
16、ut requirements of 3.4.2 after being conditioned at minus 650 - 50F for two hours minimum and tested as specified in 4.5.3.3. 3.5.4 Hot temperature. The piston actuator assembly shall comply with the output requirements of 3.4.2 after being conditioned at 160 t 5OF for two hours minimum and tested a
17、s specified in 4.5.3.4. 3.6 First article inspection. This specification contains technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for submission of first article samples shall be specified in the contract. 3.7 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and assembled in
18、 a thorough, workmanlike manner, and all manufacturing, processing, and assembling operations shall be correctly performed. Ail parts and assemblies shall be clean, free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, dirt, grease, rust and other foreign matter that may impair proper functioning. The cleaning method
19、 used shall not be injurious to any parts, nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agents. All required markings and stampings shall be neat and sharply defined. Required packing shall be dry. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified i
20、n the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspect
21、ion requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibi
22、lity for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 an 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the cont

The following types of inspection shall be conducted on this item. a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Quality co
25、nformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection. 4.3.1 Submission. The contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the contracting officer for evaluation in accordance with provisions of 4.3,2. Testing is described in the First Article and Qua
31、lity Conformance Inspection Tables. 4.4.3.1 Moisture content of ignition powder. The contractor shall provide adequate controls to ensure compliance with the requirement of 3.3 and shall test for verification one (1) sample of material from each eight (8) hours of production in accordance with 4.5.1
32、. Composite samples shall not be used. If the moisture content of a sample exceeds the requirements and loading has not begun, that quantity of material represented by the sample shall be rejected. If the piston actuators have been loaded with material containing excessive moisture, the remaining ma
33、terial that is represented by the sample, together with all piston actuators loaded with the non-conforming material, shall be rejected. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described in the “Paragraph Reference/Insp
34、ection Method“ column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6. herein. 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Moisture content ignition powder. The
35、moisture content shall be determined in accordance with MIL-P-22264. Observation shall be made for compliance with the applicable requirement. 4.5.2 Functioning tests- sensitivity and output. 4.5.2.1 No-fire test. The piston actuator, maintained at the conditioning temperature, shall be subjected to
36、 the specified no-fire voltage by discharging a capacitor across the bridge circuit in accordance with the requirements of Dwg. 12631047. Any sample which fails to comply with the requirement of 3.4.1 shall be classed defective and shall cause the lot to be rejected. (Non-destructive test). 4.5.2.2
37、All-fire output. The piston actuator,maintained at the conditioning temperature, shall be assembled in the specified test fixture (Dwg. 12631059) and subjected to the specified all-fire voltage by discharging a capacitor across the bridge circuit in accordance with the requirements of Dwg. 12631047.
38、 Observation shall be made or compliance with the requirements of 3.4.2. Any sample which fails to fire on the first attempt shall be classed defective. 39、3.1 Resistance between electrode and cup, thermal shock, vibration, and function. The piston actuators shall be tested as follows, in the sequence specified, using approved equipment: a. b. C. d. e. f. g. h. 4.5.3.2 Measure resistance between the electrode and cup in accordance with 4.5.6. Condition
40、 for two (2) hours minimum at minus 650 -5OF. Remove from cold chamber and within 20 seconds transfer to a hot: chamber at 1600 + 5 OF. Condition for two (2) hours minimum at 1600 + 50F and 20 % maximum relative humidity. Remove from hot chamber and immediately transfer to the vibrator. Vibrate for
41、15 minutes, minimum, in a sweep covering a frequency range of 25-500-25 cycles per second, parallel to the transverse orthogonal axis, with output end down and a 2 2 0.2 Gs peak amplitude. Measure resistance between electrode and cup in accordance with 4.5.6. The piston actuators shall be tested as
42、specified in 4.5.2.2. Any piston actuator which fails to comply with the applicable requirement shall be classed defective. (Destructive test) Waterproofness . The piston actuator assemblies shall be immersed in water at a two (2) to three (3) inch depth for 48 hours, minimum at the conditioning tem
43、perature. Atthe end of the immersion time, the piston actuator assemblies shall be removed from the water, tested according to 4.5.2.2, and observed for compliance with the requirements of 3.4.2. Any sample which fails to comply with the applicable requirements shall be classed defective. (Destructi
44、ve test) I 4.5.3.3 Cold temperature. The piston actuator assemblies, maintained at the conditioning temperature, shall be functioned as specified in 4.5.2.2. (Destructive test). 4.5.3.4 Hot temperature. The piston actuator assemblies, maintained at the conditioning temperature, shall be functioned a

The bridge assembly shall be connected to the equipment and the bridge - resistance shall be measured when
46、a current limited to one (I) milliampere is applied. Any bridge assembly that fails to comply with the drawing requirement shall be classed defective and removed from the lot. (Non-destructive test) 4.5.5 Insulation resistance between electrode and header of plug assembly. The required D.C. voltage
47、shall be applied to the plug assembly between the electrode and the header for not less than one or more than two seconds. If the resistance measures less than.the specified resistance, the plug assembly shall be classed defective and removed from the lot. (Non-destructive test 4.5.6 Resistance betw
48、een electrode and cup. The piston actuator assembly shall be connected to the equipment and the resistance chai1 be measured between the electrode and the cup when a current limited to one (1) milliampere is applied. Any actuator assembly that fails to comply with the drawing requirement shall be cl
49、assed defective and removed from the lot. (Non-destructive test) 4.5.7 Plating of electrodes. The plating shall be verified within the applicable drawing requirement. (Test samples shall not be returned to the lot). 4.5.8 Pull test of electrode of plug assembly. The plug assembly shall be tested in accordance with the applicable drawing requirements. (Destructive test), 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation and packaging. 5.1.1 Level B. Piston actuators shall be packaged in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations Title 49, Para 100-177.
