SCOPE 1.1 This specification supports the acquisition of the

17、tion, Nothing in 3 . REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General requirements. Cannon, parts thereof; and mounts, components, and parts thereof shall conform to: 8401603, the drawings and specifications listed in the Engineering Parts List EPL 11577220 and EPL 8401603, the requirements of this specification, the provi
18、sions of MIL-C-13931, and all referenced documents. Any conflicts are to be resolved by means of the order of precedence (see 2.3). 3.2 First article. The contractor shall submit a first article unless it is specifically waived in the contract (see 6.2). No first article requirements shall be waived
19、 without review and approval by the Procuring Contracting Officer. 3.3 Functioning. All parts shall operate without interference, erratic movement, or malfunction. the applicable general drawing, 11577220 or 3.3.1 Sight mount. The sight mount shall operate smoothly throughout its entire range of mov
20、ement. 3.3.2 Barrel pin assembly. The barrel pin 7136051 assembly shall operate smoothly. 3.3.3 Elevating mechanism. The elevating mechanism shall function through entire operating range. With the mortar set up in firing position, backlash crank-handle shall no exceed 10 degrees rotation in any posi

The mortar shall be capable of withstanding a chamber pressure of 19,000 plus or minus 900 pounds per square inch when tested as specified in 4.5.2.9. 3.4.2 Functioning. components and mount during and after the testing specifie

There shall be no indication of abnormal wear, damage, or deformation of the bore surface. 3.4.4 Material soundness. After completion of testing, all parts shall be free from cracks and frac
26、tures and shall comply with any special soundness requirements specified on the applicable drawings including the provisions of this specification. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISION 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of al 1 inspection requirements as s
27、pecified herein. The contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such in
28、spections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. sections 3 and 5. All items must meet all requirements of The insriection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection
29、system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract, Sampling in quality con
30、formance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. Failure to function as specified shall be cause for rejection. 4.5.2.8 Shock absorbers. Each assembled mortar shall be gymnasticated by manually depressing the muzzle
48、 end of the cannon in a downward direction through the full range of all shock absorbers and releasing. The gymnastication shall be performed with the mount in each position specified in Table II. of the shock absorber assemblies shall be smooth and without any evidence of binding. After each gymnas
49、tication, the cannon shall return to its original firing position, specified in Table II. shall be cause for rejection. Functioning Failure to comply with the requirements 4.5.2.9 Performance. 4.5.2.9.1 Actual firing. Government personnel at a proving ground designated by USATECOM.
